I will be praying for all of you. Not sure if Chuck Norris can save you from this one.

That was filmed down below a friend of mines house. His property backs up to that meadow.

              Best Things About the Original

              1. John Wayne

              2. Robert Duvall as Ned Pepper

              3. Strother Martin as Colonel Stonehill, the owner of the livery stable.

              4. Dennis Hopper as "Moon", the young outlaw stabbed in the dugout by his
partner, "Quincy". His memorable line: "Quincy...he never played me false
              til' he killed me."

Three worst things about the original:

              1. Glen Campbell

              2. Glen Campbell

              3. Glen Campbell

And if you've never read the book by Charles Portis, you should. It's a short read, but really good.

As good as the original was and is, I'm still looking forward to the remake. Jeff Bridges is no slouch as an actor and having a REAL actor play LaBoeuf (Matt Damon) will be nice.

Ok, I am sorry but here is my little rant on this subject.

I would hope that a remake of ANY John Wayne movie would not only be an excellent cinematic piece of work, but also be emblazed in the Spirit of John Wayne. Though I believe the Duke and his part as the Original Rooster Cogburn will never be duplicated. I anticipate an entertaining couple of hours with many more days of comparing the two movies. I also believe that if the movie is good it is a compliment to the orginal movie and it should be satisfying to all of us Duke fans since imitation is the greatest form of flattery. If the movie is horrible, again NOONE IS BETTER THAN JOHN WAYNE!!!! HAIL TO THE DUKE!!!!! GOD BLESS JOHN WAYNE AND GOD BLESS AMERICA!!! Just my Opinion.......

Im a big Duke fan. i'll admit that when i first heard of this movie i was not to thrilled, some things need to be left alone and John Wayne movie re-makes are one of them. But since it is a TEXAS "project" I will definently check it out.

I only have one question, Why? Why remake a story that’s already been told? The west was full of stories. Just as True Grit was new and interesting in its time, so should a new story be fresh and interesting.

I don’t understand why many of the movies coming out are remakes of earlier releases. Is it just risk avoidance or is Hollywood out of fresh ideas?

That's my opinion. These days you either get crazy special effects (avatar), chick movies, or cartoons.......because they're out of ideas.

The Coen Brothers know what they're doing though, I figure the'll at least do the original justice.
