His changes to the tax code absolutely screwed me and my family. Not to mention a number of friends.

Care to explain how, what codes, etc? I saw no change in my taxes (assume you mean federal)

His tax plan put a cap on writing off taxes. 10k max write off. Which disproportionately impacted blue states. Want to know why those idiots are moving here? That's one of a multitude of reasons those people moved here. The shutdowns were just the last straw.

Then with child credits, while you and I know it worked out the same in the end, instead of giving the credit at the end of the year, it was changed to each month. But uninformed voters saw their "refund" go down, and that was one of the reasons. Poor optics, even if it didn't change anything.

And to be very clear. Trump was a great president. But that tax thing and the response to COVID are not high points for him.

For the millionth time I agree Trump is an arrogant Ahole and very hard to watch (although 10x easier than Biden or Hillary or Kamila would be).
I didn't see this tax code change and still don't know how it affected some people.

I don't think Trump had any way out of that covid mess. When even 90% of TBHers were scared of covid what could Trump have done? If you can think back to the height of covid there's no way he could have known or gone against everyone. It was literally the entire world freaking out over covid LOL

Not much you, I or Trump can do about stupidity. I had a buddy that couldn't wrap his mind around the fact that he paid less in taxes overall but got less of a refund because of how it was distributed. He is full on in Orange Man Bad camp and even admitted he paid less in taxes but hated Trump because his refund went down. Again can't fixe stupid and that is a reason he WAS a buddy....

And to be clear I am 100% on the Trump train but have zero issues with Desantis and would vote for him in a heartbeat over everyone else but Trump. I'm skeptical of Desantis' backers (Bushes, etc.) but I like what he has done in Florida.

I think a lot of you are mistaking DeSantis playing a role towards the middle to try and pick up more independents. The votes trump lost the election by…. Ron’s actions sure speak towards his devotion to independent freedoms/rights! Which is what this election is really about!

He could have lead people through it rather than playing a huge role in creating and reinforcing the fear that Fauci and the rest purposefully ginned up in order to manipulate an irrationally panicked population. He could have and should have lead more like Kristi Noem or DeSantis. And that’s not hindsight. I was saying that from day 1 in early ‘20. Fear NEVER produces good decisions. But fear is what Trump and 99% of all the other “leaders” were pumping out. That was a humongous and foreseeable mistake. If he had ditched Fauci and lead people out of the madness, lots of people’s reactions to it all would have been dramatically different. The vast majority of people are complete followers. Sheep. They are heavily influenced by their leaders, for better or worse - even if they don’t like their leaders.

IMO we are up against a pure strong evil bigger than we understand.

Trump started out calling it a fake virus, didn't he? What made him change his tune?

It’s a spiritual war for sure. Satan is the father of lies and chaos.

I have no idea why Trump panicked over COVID. It never made sense to me at all. He’s reported to be a germophobe. That probably had something to do with it. He apparently bought in to Fauci’s lies.

He talked a lot prior to his election about draining the swamp. But he left the swamp in place when he took office. Comey, Fauci, all of them. They were too much for him. They’re too much for anybody if they’re left in place. If a Republican gets back in to the White House, I hope he or she will fire everybody in control of the corrupt alphabet agencies before the sun goes down on the first day in office. That’s the only way to see any improvement.

Fire and then prosecute the traitors and the treasonous. Hang the guilty in front of the Washington Monument.

Gotta send a message from We, The People, that resonates for the next 5 generations.

Wont happen, republicans are the same as democrats. We The People are the only ones that can change things, and as long as we're still fighting over bud light and target, we will do nothing.

He didn't start out promoting fear, but when he attacked for downplaying it and promoting things like hydroxychloroquine, and even killing people. Again, he was somewhat forced into that play by eveyone else's irrational fears that were spurred by the left and the media. He pushed back for a while, but eventually gave in to try to save face and that hurt him.
