He is actually, in my opinion, more effective at actually beating them than Trump was. Trump does great at calling them out and shining a light on the swamp and all of that. But he didn't fire the leftists in control of all the federal bureaucracies. DeSantis did in Florida. Trump put Fauci in control of the Federal covid response. DeSantis appointed Dr. Joseph Ladapo to Surgeon General of Florida (he's the opposite of Fauci in every way). DeSantis is not at all afraid to take on the woke media. He hammers them daily. He has a long list of real accomplishments:

He has Trump's fearlessness, but lacks Trump's childishness and advanced age. And he's been more effective as governor of Florida than Trump was as President, overall. Trump had some huge wins, but his huge blunders negated most of them. DeSantis isn't God either. But the way I see it, he's a more effective fighter against the left than Trump. I think we all agree that we need a warrior to not just call out the left and make fun of them, but to freaking obliterate and defeat them.
Dangit Shane, spot on. It's rare these days that one can see the good and bad of both candidates.

We are 9 months from the primary. I personally will decide the day of. And Trump, or DeSantis is not Superman. We need to elect conservatives/libertarians down ballot more than just one guy at the top.

If so, how do you explain them letting him defeat them over and over?

I agree with 90% of what you say and enjoy your level headed and well thought out responses. One thing that's hard for me is to convey what I'm thinking to the computer.
One thing is it's alot easier to do things on a state level vrs the entire country. Love what DeSantis has done but will he be able to do all that on the big stage is the question. Love the stance he's taken on the school's with the crap they try to force on our children. Have a 4 year old and it's scary to think about the world he will grow up in.

State is definitely easier than federal. But Trump didn’t do it when he was there either. Maybe DeSantis will/can. ??

I wouldn't be upset at all if he is the nominee I just hope/pray he can accomplish the same things at the next level that he has at the state level. I do think he is a fighter but he hasn't faced what he will if he becomes the president. I will be happy with either one to be honest!

Did Trump not do a super job with foreign agreements, reworked NAFTA etc? Did he now have most Countries under control? While it was happening I can't recall a single TBHer saying any of that was bad or done wrong.

He did, but he didn’t accomplish anything that lasted past his term other than the Supreme Court. We need wins that can endure, not just executive actions. Those are great while they last. They just don’t last. Trump is an old man that’s only eligible for 1 more term anyway. Whatever he does by executive action in a second term would be very temporary. And then we’d quickly be right back where we are today.

So did they do away with USMCA and put NAFTA back in place?

No, but it’s basically just NAFTA 2.0. It didn’t change much. Not a huge deal. But it lasted past his last day in office. Yay. It hasn’t kept the Left from doing all the crap they want to do.

Shane, with a few exceptions like wars and SCOTUS appointees, what things are you expecting a president to accomplish that isn’t un-doable by the next president or either party by executive order or legislation? The system is designed to counter-balance over time.

Reagan was the best ever and not much of his legacy remains unfortunately.

Undoing stuff by legislation is far from permanent, but it's harder to accomplish than just executive order stuff. We still have Obamacare.

A president also needs help from the legislative branch, something he never had.

                              1000%

All this talk about no accomplishments but, everyone still blames Trump and totally disregards all the corruption from both sides. O and covid just happened to pop up at the perfect time to unseat the most popular president of our lifetime.

But hey DeSantis is the man and can get it done without being part of the corruption.

There are many people that have your same feelings river rat. Don't think your the lone ranger buddy

Yes sir. That's something that seems to be conveniently ignored by some.
