Again I see no way he could have won or not lost with covid. If he held his ground (keep in mind hindsight is 20/20) he would have been crucified and probably sued countless times if he stood fast that hydroxychloroquine and iver worked. And they probably would have won the lawsuits after seeing the BS going on now.

There is never going to be any winning for any Republican in the media, so we might as well do the right thing and keep moving forward while they scream and whine. He was crucified anyway. He was ridiculed for HCQ, vitamin C, injecting bleach, etc.... He was criticized for calling it the CHYYYYNA virus. He was criticized for rushing the vax and then for not getting it out fast enough. He and any Republican is going to be crucified by the liberal media no matter what in every situation every day of every year. He/we will never win in the media.
But Trump could have and should have lead people OUT of fear, rather than into it. He can't control what the media says and does. But he can control his own actions decisions, and he could have had a much more positive impact on the country had he been a less fearful leader through all of that. I was saying back in March 2020 that the shutdown was the single stupidest thing our nation had ever purposefully done to itself. I never had any reason to change my opinion on that. It was utterly senseless, and the results speak for themselves. It was and still is my opinion that all of that was terrible leadership in a crisis. Others have different opinions, but I don't see me ever changing mine on that topic.
It wasn't just Trump. It was 95% of all leadership at every level that failed to lead. Heck, I ended up resigning from the eldership at my church in 2020 after months of our church being shut down, worship online only, no elders' meetings (not even zoom meetings) for 6 months..... I tried to organize Sunday morning worship service outdoors when we first shut down, but I was shot down. They wanted everybody to "meet" together watching 3 or 4 ministers worship alone in an empty church building on YouTube. I was losing too much sleep over it, and I was the only one who wasn't on board with the surrender/shut down. I had to let it go. None of them would even consider anything other than fear.
I'm sure that if Trump had been more confident and less fearful in his leadership that it would have given more lower level leaders the confidence to lead more effectively too. It wouldn't have changed everybody or everything. But when leadership at the highest levels are huddled in fear, it's hard for most people to muster the courage to behave differently. He could have made a big difference in the world's response if he would have actually lead.
I'll get off my soapbox. I know some folks can't take any criticism of Trump. But that was just a humongous failure of leadership all around. We'll continue to pay the price for that for years to come.Last edited by Shane; 06-06-2023, 01:02 PM.

I've said a zillion times I don't care if Trump is bashed when he does bad.
The main reason I don't blame anything covid related on him is we all said here on TBH he was in a no lose situation. Heck most here didn't figure out covid was BS until far far too late.. But now want to act like we knew all along and Trump should have also?
I get it though, he could have done better. But I also think there was more at play we don't know about because some of it makes zero sense. I honestly think we the people have little idea whats really behind the curtains making politicians do and say things.

Yeah, I wasn’t talking about you with Trump criticism. You don’t mind it. And like I said, I’m not saying anything about COVID response now that I wasn’t saying from day one. It’s not hindsight. You’re right that most people didn’t see the truth for far too long. But had there been more leadership that wasn’t driven by panic, the truth would have been evident to more people far sooner. That’s the point I’m trying to make. The reason the entire world dove straight over the cliff during COVID is because almost all the leadership was sprinting toward the cliff and screaming for everyone to follow. The small handful of people who were trying to get people to turn around were mostly ridiculed and ignored. But they were right. And it wasn’t just a lucky guess. Staying rational and avoiding panic allowed a few to figure things out as it was happening. The masses only wanted to listen to fear and panic though. There simply weren’t enough calm and rational leaders making the case for reality in the face of fear. Most leaders didn’t lead. They followed the masses and gave them the fear and panic that they wanted. And that made masses panic more, and they demanded more fear-based “solutions”. So the “leaders” obliged. Vicious cycle….. That will be what the history books talk about decades from now after every leader who panicked is dead and their egos don’t matter anymore.

LoL, if that's what they will be talking about is history it scares the hell out of me to think of all the other lies we've been told over time.
If your gonna critique something please let it be something other than covid because it did exactly what it was designed to do. It's killed the economy, it killed the success of a none politician to be successful, and it changed each and everyone of our lives forever given the control our government was given for that given time. And guess what? It was a huge success for the powers that be. It's still working right now as a endless talking point by your self

Once you consider that the vax was not made for covid, but covid was made for the vax, things become a lot clearer.
all of this garbage is intentional. The nwo could have NEVER accomplished all that they did if hitlary was in office. Now otherwise decent men are defending trump for what they would have gone APE over, had a democrat done the exact same things.
It is truly amazing to watch.

I didn't see this tax code change and still don't know how it affected some people.
I don't think Trump had any way out of that covid mess. When even 90% of TBHers were scared of covid what could Trump have done? If you can think back to the height of covid there's no way he could have known or gone against everyone. It was literally the entire world freaking out over covid LOL

And to be clear I am 100% on the Trump train but have zero issues with Desantis and would vote for him in a heartbeat over everyone else but Trump. I'm skeptical of Desantis' backers (Bushes, etc.) but I like what he has done in Florida.
As for the Bushs backing DeSantis. That is 100% because Trump made that family look stupid. It's pure ego, "Orange Man bad" syndrome. They have ego's just as Trump does. They exercise their ego's just as Trump does.
