You may want to tell that spell checker that "longbow" & "bowhunter" are single words too.

You might want to check that... they probably should be hyphenated but folks haven't and so they have become one word.. But if that’s all you got to worry about, I envy you…

        Javi,
That's an issue as well. I don't care to learn about them nor do I care to learn about rifles. I have never shot a xbow and have shot a rifle less than 50 times my whole life. But, I will impart any and all of my knowledge to anyone wanting to know anything I know about hunting. It just wouldn't serve them well for me to learn about xbows or rifles in passing and try to pass that on, They would be much better served learning from someone that knows and is passionate about it.

So then you're against the crossbow, like my kids were against eating Liver... they never tried it... but knew they wouldn't like it...

I'm not really trying to get in the arguement about them, all I was doing was making a point that the new compounds are reaching crossbow speeds in the 340-360 range and that's faster than a lot of the crossbows being sold out there.

                2. Gun hunters might start shooting bows

                3. I don't want more bow hunters in MY woods.. (only really honest answer)

                4. Crossbows are too easy

Anybody got anymore... we can make a list...

The new Omen is around 366 as well. The PSE designer of the Omen thinks he will break 400 in a year or two.

That's really cute the way you edited that info to make yourself look right. This is kinda petty, but if you 2 guys want to argue with the dictionary...

                          Link to the page...

It's pretty clear above the words "One Entry Found" that there is no hyphen in the word "recurve". The word next to the "Main Entry" as you posted it with a hyphen is actually the phonetic spelling of the word with a dot to show the separation of syllables, it's not a hyphenated word.

                          Here's longbow for you too...

                          Longbow...

                          longbow - One entry found.
                          Main Entry: long·bow
                          Pronunciation: \ˈlȯŋ-ˌbō\
                          Function: noun
                          Date: 14th century

                          recurve - One entry found.
                          Main Entry: re·curve

I just C&P it above...like I assume that you did...did you actually have to change it from a 'dot' to a 'hyphen' to try to prove you were right?

Not only trying to change the definition of archery but let's change the way it's history is spelled too.

BTW, Webster's doesn't recognize "bowhunt", "bowhunting", or "bowhunter" as words yet, but a few other sources do...

                          Bowhunting #1.

                          Bowhunting #2.

                          Bowhunting #3.

I'll get back with you on the origin of the word if you're remotely interested...it seems like it was an outdoor's writer who led the push to make it one word. I think maybe the information is part of the Bowhunter's Ed program????
