I'm not looking for an arguement either and making a point as well.

The Stryker Crossbow by Bowtech has been out a couple of years and shoots 405fps with a 425 grain bolt. Bowtech claims a 60 yard effective range.

The TAC 15 Crossbow by PSE is a new on the market crossbow that shoots 412fps with a 425 grain bolt. PSE claims 1” groups at 100 yards.

I’m sure Bowtech has one in the closet that will trump PSE’s and so the battle for the fastest crossbow will go but without the limitation of how many pound you can draw back.

This debate has been going on since I started bowhunting in 1980.
One of the originial reasons for not wanting crossbows is that it was thought that allowing them would make the success rate too high and therefore lose archery only season.

Also back then there was a debate about it being legal in Mississippi allowing poisioned arrows.

We all have our personal lines, mines just a lot farther back than most.

But, I will impart any and all of my knowledge to anyone wanting to know anything I know about hunting. It just wouldn't serve them well for me to learn about xbows or rifles in passing and try to pass that on, They would be much better served learning from someone that knows and is passionate about it.
Great post right there! I grew up with shotguns and running dogs. For some reason shooting a deer over 75 yards away with a high powered rifle ain't very sporting in my very humble opinion. I never owned a high powered rifle until 95' to go to Alaska on a corporate trip. Caribou dead at 325 yards.....big whoop! Thus the reason I bowhunt 99% of the time!

When you are right you are right! You are now officially one of the "Elitest".......welcome to the club sir! Dang I love bowhunters!!!

First, dedication to hunting has no meaning in my eyes, you either hunt or you don't. Accomplishments have no place in this discussion either.
My discussion hinges on the fact that there is an archery-only season that has been in place for many years, with descriptions as to what qualifies as legal archery equipment.
Others want to dilute this established season with weapons that are already legal for the 60+ day regular season.Bowhunters that ply their sport with weapons that meet"legal archery equipment" should feel compelled to protect this season for those that fought hard to establish it.
HWC- you scare me with your conspiracy theory.

Well all of these are good posts. I would like to ask if you enjoy watching an arrow in flight? Do you enjoy challenging yourself? Can you step up to the challenge? Do you connect with yourself? Do you belong to LSBA? If so then you don't need to ask the question. The question is within you.

Belonging to a club is not a perquisite to being a bow hunter, it just means you agree with the club’s dogma….

Then why are so many states jumping on the bandwagon.

Honest question. Do you ever post something that isnt praising someone else's quote? Not attacking. I just never see you post anything from the horse's mouth.

"Bandwagon jumping" don't make it right!
To your question......why restate the obvious!!! Heck, it saves me a whole lot of typing also. If you want to see the post(s) I started just look under my profile. I do have a great many of them.

No it doesn't. Agree with you. It just means that you support all those that have granted you a bow season and defends it rights every year. If I don't like what they do then at least you have the right to tell them. Choices are like opinions, everyone has one. I just believe if you don't partcipate then you don't have a right to complain. Just simple truths.

Bowhunters that appreciate the "archery only" season with established "legal archery equipment" that did not include crossbows didn't put up a good argument against.

How does this pertain to the discussion?

                            Rocky,
If everyone else is agreeing that it should be, there must be some merit to its legality.

That other question was referring to Landrover.

My answer got included in your quote due to lack of computer skill.
I still don't know why you called Landrover out.
