Not really a good comparison. Try asking the dealership that's working on your car if it's ok with them if you furnish the parts and see how it works out for you.

Quite a few years ago, three friends and I decided to buy new bows. They had just received a bonus on their jobs. I drove them two hours to a well known archery pro shop and told the owner we were planning to buy four new bows and have them rigged out. I asked if he would cut us a good deal since we were making a large purchase.

His exact answer was, " Why the F--- would I cut you a deal. you are going to buy them anyway". I said ,"because we don't have to buy them here". He said,"YEAH? Where else you gonna get this bow?". We left. I drove past there a couple years ago and saw the building empty. Made me smile.

I actually did that a few weeks ago with a fuel filter on a Tahoe. I nor my mechanic friend could get it off due to not having the right tool. Off to dealer I went with the pump I already had. No issue whatsoever. If a business doesn't want To make money by cutting arrows or installing components they are just stupid. Money is money. If I can save 10 or 20 bucks buying online I will and there is no reason why a shop should not want to cut them and take my money

          Customer service is key.
Nothing wrong with providing bow or arrow service to a paying customer if they did not buy it in your shop. UPSALE is the word. Cut his arrows and suggest buying a new quiver or other item.
Maybe make him a deal on a more arrows or match the price if they buy something else.

I would have asked him for my arrows back and said later. I'll take my business elsewhere.

              I agree.

Had an experience like that at a little archery/rifle shop in San Angelo. Needless to say I have bought a new bow, built an AR and bought a few guns ALL ELSEWHERE because of the jerk behind the counter.

I always prefer to support local business unless you are dealing with an ***!

I paid to get my arrows cut. I can understand him not being happy if I was to ask him to cut them for free. To me that is a service he does for money. Isn't that the entire point of a business?

Want me to buy stuff there? Give me the service that would warrant me wanting to come back.

Want a dictionary description of customer service?
                    See Richard from bowzone.

….or Joey….or Will. Agreed, BowZone has customer service nailed down.

Actually its a great comparison. I'm not asking them to work on something like my bow with parts I furnish. I'm asking them to service an individual product that stands alone as itself.

That's a pretty dumb comment. If I owned a business, I would offer any service that I could do, to anybody that'd be willing to pay. That's how a business owner makes money, make your customers happy and they will return. So you would never buy arrows from midway because you'd have to take them to a shop and have them cut?

R&C doesn't treat you any better, even if you buy your bow from them. I gave them numerous chances before I finally got sick & tired of their Dumb & Dumber act. The son (David) flat out lied to me about a problem with my Bowtech (they're an authorized dealer BTW). Either he was being lazy, or is just an idiot, figuring that I wouldn't call Bowtech, to check it out for myself. That's the last time I ever walked thru their door, and I'm happy to make the 45 minute drive to Santa Fe Archery for all of my archery needs now, and tell all of my friends the very same thing.
