Good customer service brings repeat and referral business. I had a shop treat both me and my son like we were just as important as a rich guy when were purchasing our first bows. I ended up shooting 3d with them all for a couple seasons. That shop is 1250 miles away, and they still get my major business (new bow purchases, more expensive stuff). I dont mind the drive either, I usually have to go visit my family as well. Local stuff is with Bowzone, they are definitely good people.

I would have been embarrassed to go into a store and ask them to work on something I had just saved a dollar on buying it somewhwere else.

Never been to RC, but bought a bow online and took it to Clyde's in Corpus to rig out. They were more than happy and helpful in setting it up.
Since moving back to Houston, I have been to West Houston a time or two, and each time, not a good customer service experience. Had one of the guys actually break the sight off my bow (over torqued a screw), then claim it was the quality of the sight's fault. Asked him if he would take care of the issue seeing they carried the same manufacturer as the sight, but did not have the exact model, and basically was told no because it wasn't bought there. Went back to Clyde's and they replaced it, not questions asked under warranty.

Originally posted by ttaxidermy View PostThat's hilarious that he mentioned buying archery stuff from walmart. I've seen HIM in there digging through clearance stuff myself.
He put a string that was a 1/2"-3/4"to long on my bow ,a Jennings Buckmaster that I purchased from HIM,I actually bought 2 of the same bow from him. He used the wrong length string because he didn't have the correct length. He shortened it by twisting it a bunch!! I questioned this practice at the time."It will be fine" was his response. The bow shot horrible. Very noisy and a lot of vibration. I took it back a few days later and He would not exchange it because it was "USED". I was furious. That place is a joke.
He lost a good customer. Forever!!!!
Santa Fe for me ever since. David is a stand up guy!!!!

They are the reason I learned to do all my own bow work. I took an OLD Barrnet Banshee to them 10 years ago to have a new string put on. He asked me then where I bought it from. Told him I ordered it from bass pro back in the mid 80's. He then told me to trash it, in not so nice words and buy a real bow from him. Walked out right then.

Sad thing is that he could have a booming business if he wasn't such a bad actor.Last edited by PondPopper; 03-23-2014, 10:20 AM.
