Had our trip cancelled this last weekend in North Central Oklahoma due to the lack of birds. Not good.

Made another trip to the woods. My dad lives around the corner from My property (they border each other in the back). His dog was waiting at the gate for us when we got there, told my friend he would be a problem. He did his level best to make sure the ducks didn't "get" us. He's a good boy. 😡 my friend and his son did manage a couple of birds while I moved to a different pond to try to keep the dogs off of them so his boy could get some shots.

Still hearing bleak news from the Anahuac/Winnie area and throughout the marsh.

Seems like if you historically have been a X marks the spot then shooting some birds but everywhere else is meh.

Hope someone on hear is hammering them though

We’re beginning to get a little decent weather and water up here.

Pressure is as big of an issue as ever, but well managed areas have been pretty good so far this season.

The ducks don’t seem to be using the woods very much which seems odd to me. Hopefully that will change as we go down the stretch. We had some good hunts this week in weird conditions!

I've hunted Lake Conroe a few times this year and haven't had much luck. Every time I've went out haven't I don't hear much shooting at all either but I don't think its known for outstanding duck hunting . This was our best day out.

A friend in SW Arkyland has had some decent hunts at times. Hit & miss , with more misses lately.

I have a friend with a place in SW Arkansas that I’ve hunted before. It’s an interesting area because there isn’t much water, so if there are any ducks around it seemed like the hunting was pretty easy. Kind of an interesting variety of ducks down there as well! Not many mallards but several little ducks. I haven’t been down there in probably 10 years.

My grandpa grew up in the bottoms that are now covered by Millwood lake. He told stories of phenomenal duck shooting in there before the lake was built! Wish I could’ve seen it.

Hunted up in the panhandle last weekend. Did well on cranes but the geese were a little tougher. Still killed them though. No ducks to speak of up there and all the way back down.

One of the creeks I hunt usually stays loaded with birds most of the season. Checked it out yesterday and there was a pair of gaddies and a pair of hoodies on it. That’s it. My spots sound like everyone else’s and are empty.

Was finally able to get my dad out with us. It was pretty neat to have the three of us out there together.
It was fast a furious for the first 30 min.

We are changing it up and snake raking everything to expose as much water as possible.

Only seen 10 birds in 4 days here and its stupid quiet everywhere around us.

No one is bothering with hunting lol

My dad has never duck hunted with me. Not sure if he has hunted ducks since I've been alive. He loves hunting, but is hunting comfort first, then critters. He likes box blinds with good windows, heaters with plenty of propane, sacks full of snacks, and a nice accurate rifle.

He called me a couple of days ago and said, "I want to go kill some ducks with you". As you could imagine, I'm EXCITED. I went and did a little trimming to try to give us the best chance as possible, and we'll give it a go monday morning. Like christmas morning, i cant wait.
