    2024-2025 Official Duck Hunting Thread

We are only 3 weeks away from sky blasting rice rockets, ***** slapping swamp skeeters and being envious of David (DUKFVR) hammering both on his annual 2 week straight live thread!

Couple of us spent all day mowing, prepping fields and fixing headers for the upcoming season and water delivery!

Fingers crossed we have a similar season as last year as it was a awesome one. Believe the breading grounds up north we fairly solid this year and hopefully we have some cooler weather than last year.

Already been seeing a few teal in the marsh.

    Good Luck This Season Everyone!
Saw some teal in the marsh week before last. Got my old heart hopping! Been over a bunch of Tx last 2 weeks & haven't seen anymore YET.

I can't imagine this season being worse than last year, we don't really hunt early teal but definitely ready for some regular season action! Don't have anything at the taxidermist right now, year 4 of hoping for a stud Wood duck drake!

My son and his buddy worked during the off season and found a spot a farmer is letting them hunt this year. They built this blind over the weekend and are counting the days until season opens. Yesterday, he and I spent the afternoon going through his decoys and reworking some of the rigs.

Thanks to everyone who helped him along the way and fed his addiction.

          In! Let's do this

Gonna miss my annual teal trip this year for some other out of state stuff, but I'll be following along until big duck.

The best to everyone this season! And remember, be safe out there.

I'ma hoping that I get to hunt more this season. One hour per season just ain't enough!

Been waiting on this post since February lol. I cant wait to get after some ducks. I should finish up getting all my hunting spots ready to go over labor day and then it will be time to start scouting for teal. I have NEVER teal hunted in my life but I am going to give it all I got and hope a blind hog finds an acorn. Most likely all my hunting will be solo so I will have to get very lucky. Then when big duck season opens I will be back at all my trusty wood duck holes and hoping some mallards show up like they did a few years ago. I also plan to scout a lot of public ground for other big ducks this year too all around rayburn and the forks of the river above Dam B.

Looking forward to this duck season. I redshirted my dog and this is going to be his first season let loose. Have been working hard with him and can’t wait to watch his first retrieve and hopefully get it on video if I remember.

Also pretty sure I got one of the permits for Lake Lewisville. I have no clue if it will be worth a **** or not.

Missing Teal opener for parents weekend at UArk. You think the good folks up there would know better. What is everyone's thoughts on the moon phase this year? With the Sturgeon moon tonight and the next full moon on 9/17 I think the back half of Teal might be better. I'm probably just talking myself into it as as I can't hunt the opener .

Busy busy busy... I've seen a few flocks of blues.. Here are a few vids. We have 5 (in one area) compartments that we keep flooded year round. We chop the spike rush each August to open it up more.

                      Lesto!!

I have no doubt you will find them. I'll work as hard as I can, but this working stiff doesn't have a lot of time to put the max effort in. Can't wait to follow your adventures.

                            Getting close.
We should be getting BPOP #'s this week to see how the numbers look.
