True, John Wayne can never be replaced, but Glen Campbell could.

Yep. Glen was one no-acting dude.

Just imagine how good the original would have been with a real actor instead of G.C. I don't think you can compare these two versions of the movie. The Coens and everyone involved with the new version not only have better technology to work with, but they have the luxury of studying the original and determining what they would like to do differently. Jeff Bridges ain't no John Wayne, but he's really become a great actor as he's gotten older.
From the trailer, it appears that this one doesn't have the same comic relief the original.

It can never top John Wayne but it has to be better that that sorry remake of Angel and the Bad Man. It was horrible.

I even saw a remake of The Searchers last night. Stayed on my tv for about 45 seconds.

Looks blu-ray worthy. (I don't walk into a movie theater very often.)

True! Can't replace John Wayne and Robert Duvall, but Jeff Bridges and Matt Damon are good modern day replacements. I will be there the first night it hits the theaters, I love the original and can't wait to see this one!

Ok i know i will be bashed for saying this but the first true grit kinda sucked IMO.
Glen cambell was not a good actor plus that girl was just flat out annoying.
If the new one puts a darker edge to it it might be really good.
I do agree the duke cant be remade.

I am hard core JW fan. I love watching his old westerns. I am very interested in this remake. I have to agree that Jeff Bridges has become a great actor. I do think that there aren't many actors that can bring justice to a John Wayne movie, but he might be one of the best choices. I'll go to see it.

That one just may be freakin great; or not. Either way it will be fun!

I haven't been to a movie theatre since I was a teenager. This one will make me go.

I agree that Jeff Bridges is probably about the only guy in Hollywood that might pull this off. I hope it's as good as the Dukes version.
