          Just stop.

Last weekend was the usual late season panhandle misery.

And this week has been all pinewood derby.
          Race is tomorrow.

          Then its boat work time.

I'm using clay bars for cutting and polishing.
Ordered an extended shaft for my grinder and a sisal wheel which should have better bite than the flappy cotton wheels I've been using.
About to make a run at this thing.

Made time to work yesterday as my new grinder parts were scheduled to arrive.

They did arrive...and were dropped at my neighbors doorstep.
He brought them over late last night after an afternoon of polishing with my crappy little cotton wheels.

Now, the new sisal wheel mounted, hope to finish transom and bottom tonight.

The clay bar set I got came with six different colors, each having its own cut.
Black, brown, red, blue, green and white..

So, after cutting with the black, I'm supposed to move to brown, red and eventually white for that Cobra, P-51 mirror shine.

Because the black bar leaves swirl marks.
But polishing this thing 6 times.
                Yeah, not happening.

I'll do the boat with the black, jump to green and white to lose the swirl marks and call it good.
The black is doing all the work, the green and white will go quick.
The boat has alot of minor dock rash that probably should have been sanded down before polishing. But this boat is going back on the trailer next Wednesday. Fishing season is now.
I can deal with dock rash later, like in my next life.

                          Harbor Freight grinder burned-up yesterday.
But not before it bit off a chunk of my forearm.

Help coming over Wednesday to flip it over and put on trailer.
                          We'll be ready.

A little more polishing needed to remove the swirl marks and some haze, but she's close.
Plan is to get her back on the trailer tomorrow and remount the motor.
