Devin. it would appear that you and I are pretty much in the same boat. The one and only thing I dislike about being on the EC is that my thoughts and opinions are no longer just my own. Bob has me set up for another Boy scout deal and I do enjoy them so I guess it is a trade off. I seldom come to the Campfire anymore as most anything can turn ugly .

Joey. i hate to say it but I think Devin is right. If you speak for LSBA (and if you are a LSBA spokesperson/leader) you have not been diplomatic in taking all opinions for and against crossbow anything. You being a spokesperson admantly saying your opinion being one sided not wanting to entertain any part of a crossbow addition has painted a bad picture for LSBA that is why I am hesitant to join. That is the problem i have had w/ this whole deal. This should not be a LSBA TBH thing. That is ridiculous. We have great MODERATORS on this site. IF they have an opinion they should be allowed to voice just like us. Just because they are a moderator does not mean they cannot speak and should be looked upon as a bad moderator no matter if it does not follow yours or LSBA's opinion. Just My $.02.

Mesquite, Its the SAME situation on BOTH sides. Both are in a position of representation. And BOTH should be viewed in equal lights. You paint Joey as representative, yet allow Devin the right to individuality? Come on... BOTH are individuals with individual opinions!Last edited by LostHawg; 03-14-2007, 07:38 AM.

Every person needs to be mindful that thoughts expressed here should be expressed as individual opinions, and interpreted that way, too. Looking from afar, it appears personal emotions are starting to take over at the expense of civil discussion about the topic.

Buff, while I do believe there are differences as TBH is not a political entity, clearly neither of us is immune. If I misconstrued your intentions on the other thread, I apologize. Heck, Joey's now twisted my comments into a "reverse-elitism" traditional attack. Untrue, but at least he’s used it as an olive branch to TBOT. I guess what they say remains true, what comes around goes around…..

Lone Star Bowhunters Association
NOT
Lone Star Crossbowhunters Association
I think that may be where the LSBA gets the auto NO from.
Hunt with your xbow in the general season. I have up and coming hunters and they will have to wait until they can pull the legal draw weight at that time and then prove to me that they can hit the mark before they go to the woods with stick and string.

Joey is the editor of the magazine. Not intending to take anything away from Joey, but his vote only represents himself. Just like mine if I were to attend a meeting where a vote is to be held. If Bob, Mark or one of the regionals come on here saying this or that, then I'd consider it as possibly being representative of the council.
No offense intended Joey.

Well, I'm gonna tell you anyways!
As someone who is on the fence for this issue, ya'll need to step away from the keyboards for a second... Take a deep breath... and just plain relax.
The lines (the way that I see them) have become sooo blurred because of personal opinion I am to the point of just standing back and saying, well, if they do it, OK, if they don't, OK too. Now you can blast me all you want, but the simple fact is that these threads become so emotional, it does the sport no good, because people throw their hands in the air and just say the hell with it.
So please, before a bunch do this, take a deep breath and think about what your saying to your brother or sister!Jeff Young

MC, what would make me angry with LSBA would be if they went against the general consensus of the membership. They have not done that as a matter of fact they’re working hard to get as much feed back from as many bow hunters as they can reach not just membership. IMO irregardless of my stance on this they should be commended.
If I didn't agree with the consensus I'd work to change that and not blame the organization.

Jeff i agree emotion gets to involved. The problem is there was no consensus. Leadership already made their mind up. Trust me if you saw the disturbing statement that Tomme said in my email you would see my point. People voted but Joey and Tomme are absolutlely 100% against it no matter what anyone says. even if joey is just an editor he is still a higher up representative.
