I killed some deer with the boomstick before I took anything with a bow.

The first thing I shot with a bow was a carp, and many followed after that. I think I was about 13 at the time.

My first real bow kill was a doe here in Ohio in "93"

Never looked back! Once you go Bow, it's the only way to go!

Decent little 9 pt. in Real County, November 19, 1986. That is one day I will never forget. I remember every detail as if it were yesterday. He is on my wall. Dad had him mounted for me for my birthday. I came in from school on my birthday, and it was hanging on the wall, very surprised!

A corsican ram on the infamous YO Ranch almost 30 years ago.....

I am second from the left at the top with the load of hair and my ram is the second animal from the right on the tailgate picture. I need to see if my parents have some better ones

My Dad had it mounted, but after 20+ years, it met its demise with so many moves during college and afterwards...

WT doe, i think in '87, 18 yds w/ my black bear (jr) bow 40# and bear razorhead, in Gillespie Co (Harper)...of course it was quite a few yrs before i got my next WT kill!

I want to say my next one wasn't until 1996 - 1 horn buck. (had trouble making good shots the rest of HS, and then didn't bow hunt as much when i was in college b/c didn't make it home a lot and had outgrown my bow...tended to rifle hunt when i did.) I was pretty close to putting it down when i killed that deer in 1996 b/c i had hit a handfull of deer that i didn't recover and was getting pretty down about it. Then I guess I finally got the proper shot placement to "click", and i've been MUCH more successful since...newer equipment certainly helps!

Cottontail at about 10 paces, in 1984 when I was 11 years old. I was stumbling around the woods with my new Bear Black Mag bow (I can't call it hunting because I didn't have a clue what I was doing) when the rabbit jumped out in front of my path. To this day I don't know who was more startled at that moment, the rabbit or me

                          Semoinle Cty, OK
                          1992

He almost scored in the triple digits. .....only missed it by about 10 inches.

Bosque Co. just north of Meridian, Tx. 1992, shooting a Bear Whitetail Hunter Bow. Shoot a doe straight down at first light. Watched her run due west from me, over a small rise, then heard the crash. Thats right, she ran straight away from me, jumped a fence, went to cross hiway 6 and was hit by a car....
