Old enough I didn't need the card for Texas but took the class in 06 anyway. Student # 862047
Bow Ed student # 826243 and Bow Ed instructor # 016094
If taken anywhere, it's good anywhere. Just contact that state and they'll send you a new one.

Failure to carry proof of certification or deferral while hunting is a Class C, Parks and Wildlife Code Misdemeanor which is punishable by a fine no less than $25 nor more than $500.
Some of us are exempt from that provision....

Would "Proof of Cert" not also be the Hunter Ed# on your license?
That's also a Sate issued document.

If you go to the section where you order replacement cards it tells you that if your number is printed on your license you do not need to carry it with you. Being on your license is proof of you completing the course.

Now if you have an out of state huter ed card, you better carry it. That # will not be on your Texas license.

                          Interesting.....

my HE number from Mississippi is 0610132, but my lifetime license has some other HE number on it (826218).

Don't know where they got that number, but I don't need Hunter's Ed anyway in Texas......

According to our local GW, you don't have to carry the card. He said the number is on your license.

I don't know.....I think it's one of those things that is kinda dumb to carry. But keep mine in my wallet.

                            Went back & looked

                            Took my class 5/19/1990 #00001
