I think he used it mostly for duck hunting the coast.

Nothing wrong with that rig, Mike.

I had a 1756 G3 CC at one time. I would have kept it if it had a tunnel and a jackplate.

Don't be embarrassed by a Jon Boat, I run my Alweld more than my Mako. That boat will do just fine.

I'd buy my 1756 Alumacraft back in a second if I had the chance, for solo or two person trips it was awesome.

I think that's a great boat and a good buy in today's market. I looked at it a bunch it's just a little big for what i do with Mt jon

You could run all over bastrop bayou ,Christmas and drum bay in that without a single worry

Thanks everyone, seems like a good setup for me. There is Simrad Cruise chartplotter on it, but it just has the basic map on it. Looks like the C-Map Reveal charts would really help. At $249, do yall think its worth it? I think the contours it shows will really help.

I am thinking East Matagorda bay to start, just because its away from the crowds and only about 15min farther than Galveston. But other than going through the river to go offshore, I dont think I have ever been there

I need to take my boat out more, but when I can drive 30 minutes and catch chunks from the bank it’s hard to justify the effort and expense.

It's not gonna be away from the crowds once summer comes. Certainly not on a weekend

The Texas one satellite card is the best investment I’ve made GPS wise.
