Hit surfside number four with kiddo for couple hours. Let him fill half a cooler with whiting from the first gut. Man anyone know what this tar is all over the beach? Had it the past 2 trips on my feet. Its **** near impossible to get off. Scrubbed till almost bleeding and just gonna sleep with it on my feet tonight. Da hell with it.

Fished Matagorda with my buddy this morning. Found a few reds tailing early and then got on a good trout bite around mid morning.

That’s Awesome! Well, the kid catching a mess of whiting. As far as the tar, when I was a kid, Galveston was full of it back in the 80’s and my grandpa kept WD40 in his car for just such things. Put it on a rag and also spray it onto the tar, then rub it off. Wash with soap and water afterwards or wash it in the surf.

Dawn Power wash works great, let it soak for a few minutes

There are natural occurring oil swaps in the gulf. I remember see this stuff in the 80’s when we spent alot of time on the west end of Galveston.

if I am not mistaken, lighter fluid will take it off. Also, use to be something called ‘Tar-Off’ or something like that?

Baby oil will take that tar off very easily. Glad the boy had fun fillin the cooler!
