If my dogs cross a boundary I leave my gun in the truck or fence and go get them if I can't find a house to knock on the door and I get out as soon as I get them. so what's wrong with me not wanting to leave 4000 bucks in the woods and "hope" she finds her way back to the house?
Maybe you shouldnt take your dog out if you can't control it from running on to neighboring properties.

I understand that but i mean if I ask a landowner to go get my dog and they say no that lies a problem. Could I call a game warden or a sheriff to help me out in the situation?

I do have a tracking system and it's always on my dogs. I try my best to get to them before they cross properties and haven't had a problem I'm just asking what I could do if they do get across and the landowner is being difficult

And this is the kind of attitude that will put an end to the coon hunting.

No, blatant trespassing is what will put an end to coon hunting.

Are you not worried about what the landowner might legally be doing on his multi-million dollar investment that your dog is trespassing on? What if the landowner is trapping predators year round with M-44's, connibears, snares and leg hold traps? You going to let your $4000 investment trespass on that land?

Check out the trip wire mechanisms when tripped, set off a 12 gauge blank. Saw it on youtube catching a poacher but they put pink paint in front of the charge and marked him. BAM!

Maybe if you would read what I've been trying to ask that you've yet to consider to answer you would understand my point. If you don't have the answer to my question then quit trying to shoot me down. Have a good day

Oh no I worry about it. And I don't let my dogs trespass if I can help it. And I haven't had a problem with it yet I'm just trying to figure out if there's a way IF they do and the landowner is being difficult about it if I can legally go and get my dog. Cause to me him not letting me go get my dog, my property, that's the same as theft

Probably nothing. Just hope your dog gets off said property. A lot of landowners do a lot of work to keep wildlife on their property & We don't like dogs running it off or around. If you don't have enough property to keep the dog on the place you have permission to be, I would suggest not letting him go unleashed.

Thank you sir for the answer. But my dogs are trained to run nothing but coons. Not deer and not hogs. I've watched them on my place run 50 yards from a deer and not pay it any mind at all and same with the deer. The deer just watch the dogs. You'd be surprised but deer aren't gonna leave the country if a dogs not messing with them

If I had a 4000.00 dog, he better know what " come " means. And he for sure would have a tracking collar ( so I know exactly where he is )and a shock collar on to reinforce he knows what comes means.

Yes I understand just as the landowner that your property/dog is trespassing on to without permission understands. To that landowner you are in fact trespassing, plain and simple. It really is just simple to get your dog back. You should just call the GW or sheriff and tell him that you let your dog trespass onto land you had no permission to hunt. I am sure they will sort it out for you then explain the laws about trespassing to you. You can help the trespass issue if you cared as much about your dogs as much as the landowner of the land you are trespassing on cares about his land.
