I have never figured out why these cameras cannot send full resolution pics like are cell phones. Can anybody tell me the answer to this?

I just set up a covert a few weeks ago. Only activated the SIM card for unlimited text and only have pictures text to my phone instead of using an email address. I will keep an eye on my first bill. Sorry no help but thanks for the heads up

So you did not do the prepaid plan it recommends?

j/w as I thought the prepaid plan on BUYASESSION.com was the only option they offered

All the new cameras should be set up on the 1 GB data plan. It's the easiest way to resolve all these problems that people are having with there cameras. You will never have to call AT&T ever!

Because of transmission time of larger pictures and battery usage primarily, but also data usage. The minimum picture size setting for most cell cams now is 3mp. It ends up being a pretty large file full size. Start sending a bunch of full resolution pics and your data limit ( & batteries) would get gobbled up quickly.

My Spartan camera can send full resolution pics of anything that I see and request the full size image of:



But honestly, the 1280x960 setting is a good compromise on pic quality and battery/data usage for getting every picture delivered. That resolution is fine most of the time:


It's sure as heck better than the old 640x480 my last cell cam had.

May I ask, what has changed on the new cameras?

If nothing big I will buy another 2015 Code Black once they get down to $250.

Biggest change for Covert this year will be their mobile app, which as I understand will be compatible with 2015 models also. Once you get an app to run these cameras, you'll understand how great it really is. I suspect they will also have as a choice higher resolution pics to be transmitted to you. Probably nothing major outside of those things.

I got this text yesterday and called att and they don't show I even have data on that line. They think it was sent in error and put a note on my account that if there are any charges they will be reversed. We shall see.....

Just got a bushnell for Christmas. Went online and had account setup with bushnell. Took about one min. Was taking pictures in two mins. Thing is sweet. Didn't have to jack with sim card, or phone plans. In the app you can change all your settings remotely. Check battery life, signal strength, and see how full ur memory card is getting. Now i know what I had been missing.

Pulled both of my (2015 coverts) down on Dec 5th called covert and got a RA# to send them back because they were getting water in them a lot of water and I had just traded the 2014s for the 15s back in September and never had a problem with the 14's the lady tells me on the 5th they are on back order for 2 weeks so didn't get in a hurry sent to them the next week they received them on the 16th I called 2 days ago to find out when I would get the new ones back lady had no clue when they would get more in stock and her boss was gone until Friday go figure so been without mine a month maybe I'll get the 2016 now or maybe by the time I get them back it will be 2017. Post your pics so I can get my fix I've been missing mine.

From the screenshots I've seen it looks very similar to the Spartan app. If it is, it serves as an interface to receive all your pictures from all your cameras, make any settings changes to your camera, set up scheduled events. If the web portal is similar you will be able to set up multiple recipients to receive your pictures there. The reason why that is important is the camera only sends the picture to the web portal one time, so only one data charge per picture. The web portal can send it out to multiple people and there is no additional data charge regardless of how many recipients.

Seriously, you won't understand how much more enjoyable these cameras are with a good app until you have it. It's light years ahead of what you are used with cell cams.
