Maybe you need to catch up on current events. Until almost 1996 a person in Texas could generally speaking not take a handgun out of his home. There were a few sometimes vague defenses (meaning you could be charged but could try to prove your innocence in court) such as traveling. In other words for the first four decades of my life it was for the most part illegal to have a handgun outside of my home.
For almost 20 years now a person can legally carry concealed and very soon, openly.
Which law is the government in a hurry to make that is taking away rights?
Maybe a little further history is in order. In the mid 1980's only 9 states had unrestricted carry or "shall issue" laws meaning that the state could not arbitrarily deny a person a concealed carry license. Of that 1 was unrestricted and 8 were shall issue states. The other 41 states had a combination of "may issue" which could be as little as, you'd better know the police chief or be a business owner or you weren't getting a permit or simply banned. Of those 41, 16 outright banned carry.
It has progressed to now there are 42 states that are in either the unrestricted or shall issue category. Let's see, when I became a police officer there were 9 states were they pretty much let you carry under some form and today there are 42. Hmmm........
This thread is about a property owner possibly banning someone off of his property. Whose rights are we now talking about? You have the authority (not right) to carry in TX and properly licensed. Does that authority give you the right to enter my property against my rules because you have a gun?
I would by lying if I said that I ever understood that point. Even if you to call open carry a right, when did that invalidate my actual right to control my property?
Carry on.

Their rights trump your rights! Didn't you know that?! [emoji12]

I haven't interpreted any giddiness in the comments but I sure could have gotten in trouble last week for open carry.
I was hunting for four days down by Ozona. I wore my pistol the whole time on the ranch. We killed a lot of deer and needed more ice so we went into town and you guessed it, I totally forgot the pistol was exposed. Fortunately, this being a hunting community, nobody even payed attention to my oversight. Just glad no LEO's saw it. Kinda embarrassing.

And likewise it's just silly to me that grown mean with reasonable thought are so opposed to how someone else chooses to carry their weapon in a legal manner.
The liberal agenda machine is alive and well. They have brainwashed a portion of the population that guns are evil and should be hidden. And that anyone who wants to carry them openly is somehow a whacko.

That liberal crap has nothing to do with my opinion on it. Not everyone is gonna be responsible like you Mike.

As to stores. Thy have a right to refuse service to anyone they want. I think boycotting HEB or Academy is as stupid an idea as anyone has come up. So ok lambast me! But be careful........I'm carrying.

Ya know Jason if people could articulate their opinion in a reasonable manner as to why they are opposed to open carry without resorting to calling people who desire to open carry idiots and back up their thoughts with facts rather than unsubstantiated crap like rampant gun grabs, first target, automatically shot by cops, etc. I may be less adamant in disproving their opinion.
