I think they have every right to refuse to let people come in their stores for whatever reason they want. It is there store. I choose to give them my $ or not. Everyone up in arms about "their rights"- What about the business owners rights?

30 06,,,30 07......what difference does it really make who posts what!!!!! I was carrying a concealed weapon long before concealed carry became legal....and will continue to do so as long as I feel it is necessary to protect me and my family...only places I don't carry are those protected by metal detectors...I'd rather have it when needed than worry about the legality.

As far as HEB worrying about it driving off customers, ain't gonna happen. Most people will go to HEB for a year or more before seeing a single open carrier, and if they do, how many do you think will suddenly stop shopping at HEB just because they see somebody open carrying?
Keep in mind also that this comes from HEB corporate headquarters. I'm sure the HEB here in Lampasas (an extremely gun-friendly town) wouldn't have posted that 07 sign if they hadn't been ordered to.

Look other states have had this law for years, I lived in one for 3 years (arizona) and they don't even have to have a chl. It's no big deal....

The boycott crap is a liberal argument that's rather ridiculous. Just as they do, you profess to want freedom as long as it's the freedom YOU want.
Academy and HEB are privately owned entities. It's their right to allow or not allow OC/CC in/on their premises. This is the very basic sense of freedom. They are allowed to do as they wish just as you are. Yes you can boycott to your hearts content as is your right but do it for the right reasons, not out of spite for them exercising the very freedom you claim to love which is freedom of choice.
I don't give a rip about OC, I'm glad it's now legal because it's a freakin right and a right not exercised is a right that will be lost. Personally I never will, I like my pistols tucked away where you can't see them but if everyone else wanted to, I don't care and it won't raise an eyebrow from me.
