Trust me, GP has learned this the hard way.

Keep in mind lots of Ags wanted to hire Strong when they made the Sumlin hire. I don't see how it was a knee jerk hire by Texas. He was the best (realistic) coach on the market.

If tOSU beats Mich St, Michigan and then Iowa in the Big X championship they will easily be the #1 seed

IMO Traylor was more innovative than Dodge was at SLC, but I haven't watched Westlake much.

I think Dodge took the wrong job at UNT but who knows. Some guys just don't make it at the next level and Traylor could be one of those guys but I wouldn't bet against him.

Dodge took over a machine in SLC and kept it rolling. I'm not saying he wasn't a good coach but he walked into a sweet gig.

I'm not sure what the situation was at Gilmer before Traylor took over, but he is very well respected in the coaching ranks for his innovative offense. I was hoping they would turn the offense over to him.

From a tradition standpoint, yes. From a scheme standpoint, completely opposite for the most part. Not to mention he was playing at a much higher competition level. Dodge should not be a HC in college. He would be a great OC IMO. Plus, he has Texas ties and a dog in the fight. Traylor will leave the first opportunity he gets at a higher position.

They could probably forfeit their last 3 games and be the #4 seed

                      Now Westlake is rolling.

Thankfully we didn't make that mistake

Dodge may have missed his window at the next level or taken the wrong path, but he is an offensive genius. I think it would be more fair to compare Traylor to Ledbetter than Traylor to Dodge(just from paper).

Ha!! You're probably right....they are a media darling, just like the domers!!!

You'd think that embarrassing *** whippin ND took from Alabama in the 2012 NC game would have stopped some of that......guess not.

***? I don't even remember strong being a candidate. I never have thought he was a good coach, still don't. Teddy bridge water got him through two seasons in the big east against weak teams and the other two he was 6-7 and 7-6. Now he's 6-7, 7-6, 6-7, 4-8 (soon to be) with two good seasons in between that. Meh.

I guess I didn't pay enough attention, but I don't recall hearing much clamor for Strong from my Aggie friends. Granted, with your ties to Louisville, you were probably more in tune to his name if it came up in passing than I would have been.
