UH isn't going to be added to the big 12. It doesn't add tv sets or anything else. Unless the Big 12 wants to add someone else to beat Kansas, it won't happen.

There's actually not a chance of them going to the sec either in my mind. I get that you people are constantly on the lookout for perceived insults to your school and new conference. But alas, it wasn't a dig. Again, it doesn't expand the footprint.

If it doesn't make dollars, it doesn't make sense.

Unless the sec wanted to get a couple of more teams that would almost be a gimme for the top half of the conference. Be like Kentucky.

            CFB Week 12 Thread

While I don't agree UH has a better shot at the SEC be Big 12 but it could happen.

The SEC wants to get to 16 teams to get away from the awkward 14 team league scheduling. This would give the SEC an option to add to the West. Outside of another Power 5 team, UH makes the most sense.

It would also give them more of a foot print in Texas which they want. The TV networks want more eyes in Texas on the games to give them more money. The SEC didn't want A&M because they are awesome, they wanted the Texas TV market. Same thing with Missouri and the KC market. Adding UH would help the SEC increase its foot print in Texas.

UH lets them add another team without making it harder on their traditional powers to go undefeated. It does not tip the balance of power.

Like I said, I won't say UH has a better shot at joining the SEC than the Big 12 but it's not to far fetched. Either way I think UH is a "rider partner" to somebody if they get a shot at either conference.

If the SEC expands it will not be in the same state as a current member.

It could likely come out of North Carolina or Virginia.

The ACC Grant of Rights they signed will make it very tough to add those teams.

If they can get around the GOR...

Do you send one to the West and one to the East? Do they send Vandy to the West?

I think OU / OSU to the SEC makes sense and send Bama to the East. Helps balances the East / West. I'm not sure it adds the TV eyes they would be looking for though.

That theory seems plausible. After all, College Station and Columbia are hardly located in the South, or East.

I could see the SEC adding Miami in the east. Maybe a team like Louisville in the west. It'd be hard to get two from the same conference again though. Especially the ACC
