With all due respect, and I mean with all due respect, are y'all serious? You really carry all that stuff around with you all the time? Do you really think you'd ever need it and why?

I don't carry mine around. I keep the ruck in my truck under the back seat. I am almost sure I will never need it. Almost sure.

I remember that "Bug-Out Show" a few years ago.... They featured a guy and followed him out to his bug-out spot and they were filming him... He got out his pistol... & he shot the end of his finger off. They called an ambulance... ;-)

            Gun and ammo
            water container and purification tabs
            fire source
            field stripped mres
            map and compass
            poncho
            550 cord
            minor first aid items
The term "bug out" implies an emergency. You never know when you will have to cut and run and what state of dress you will be in. In theater my bag is packed differently than the one I have prepped at home. Bugging out in crocs may not be the ideal flight gear, so my bag will support me in my haste. I can always ditch stuff along the way.

Yup - A good one would have had an extra finger tip just in case.

I keep mine in my car, and my wife has one that she keeps in the truck. So anytime we are away from home, we have it.

Has there ever been a time in your life when you stocked up at the store for some kind of impending emergency? Those of us here that are prepared can sit back, smile, and watch everyone else panic while we are already prepared.

Never, and I live in hurricane country. Well, one time I bought several cases of beer to ensure I had enough to weather the storm.
