There are so many medical emergencies that you probably can't survive without doctors amd medication.

I've got the pain pill side of things covered. I've had 4 surgeries in 4 years and I never use all of the pills that are prescribed to me so I've got a nice stash going. I'm having another surgery in June so I'll be adding to that stash.

As far as antibiotics go, I have read and heard that you can take antibiotics for fish and it work the same. I have not tried it myself to see if it is legit or not, it's just what I've heard.

I think if things get this bad to need these things, why in the world would you want to live through it. I've got enough bullets for my family and myself. We will be enjoying heaven while you are bartering MRE'S and rope here on earth.

In my opinion, it's foolish to not be prepared. Even Homeland Security says to have three days of supplies in case of an emergency. The Feds may not be able to help you for at least 3 days. What would you do if the power went out and didn't come back on? In the hurricane in the Philippines a couple of years ago, roving bands were praying on people on day 4 desperate for drinking water.

          The Rule of 3's:
3 seconds in a fight without some form of self defense.
3 minutes without air before brain damage.
3 hours without shelter in extreme weather - hypothermia or heat/sun stroke
3 days without water - dehydration
3 weeks without food - starvation
3 months without hope/contact - think about "Wilson" the volleyball.

I think the tool that should be in every preppers bag is fitness. It will be very valuable in a SHTF situation. Especially if you plan to lug a 30+ pound pack for any distance. It is a lot easier to eat cheetohs and buy stuff online to go into your cool bug out bag that is too heavy for your out of shape but to carry more than a quarter mile. You get to use and benefit from being in shape regardless of if you ever need your BOB.

Many of your vehicles are prime targets for crooks with all these guns you carry. Way more chance of your truck getting stolen then needing to bug out.

Most armed citizens that I know don't leave their guns in plain view so not sure what your theory is

For reasons that would be better in another topic I carry a first aid kit capable of treating a fairly large trauma all the way down to clipping your fingernails. It's always with me.

I think he's implying that there are more "my truck was broke into" threads than there are "I had to use my bug out bag". Guns in site or not.

                      Cash
                      suppressed 22
                      brick of subsonic ammo

Not really, but in a pinch it would do.

Yo yo's are good to add. Won't matter if they are legal in Texas

My BoB is my camping gear...to much beef on the hoof around here to worry about food for any length of time.

keep this in mind, when 9/11 hit i was on a boat on my way to a dock in del carmen mexico. at that time all we knew was it was intentional, no idea who did it, why or more importantly......what was coming next. our company refiused to move us for insurance reasons, meanwhile my wife was freaking out thinking world war 3 had started. i had to get myself to th border, walk across and then my company would arrange transport. having to get home is NOT out of the range of possibility and absolutely worth some thought.

I can't keep a bag together. I used my first aid kit when I cut my hand. I have used my rope for misc stuff. I always end up pulling the TP out when I forget to add more to the truck and I am at the lease. I wouldn't carry anything that I don't normally need.
                            I carry:
                            Pistol
                            150 rds of ammo
                            Liter of water
                            Energy bars
                            Knife
                            Life straw
                            Quick clot
                            Minor first aid kit
Mine is to strickly get home from work and incase i need any of the above at the lease under normal conditions.
I have 30 miles to go and want to travel light and quick. And that is 30 miles out of downtown Houston, It is an unlikely trip on foot.

The weapon(and bag) is an insurance policy. Its expendable and replaceable. Your life isn't.
