Whats In Your Bug Out Bag

A bug out bag is also known as a get home bag. It is commonly kept in your vehicle. So, do you always stay at home?

Remember, a get home bag/bug out bag is only meant to keep you going for 3 days tops. You don't want to make it too heavy as it will end up slowing you down.

To me, a bug out bag and a get home bag are two completely different things. I am like Buff, I just want to be at home and I'll take whatever comes. My get home bag gives me a pretty good chance of making it home if I ever need to hoof it to get there.

A bug out bag is a grab and go bag where you may or may not return. A kind of "head for the hills" bag if you will.

Though I think (like most everyone else) the tactical stuff is cool, in most situations where your trying to get home, they would bring some unwanted attention. My opinion is you would want to blend in as much as possible.

I work approx 30 miles from home. I figure it would take me 2-3 days to make it back. Our first option is to stay put. I live on approx 49 acres.

On me every day I have:

Lol. I backpack hunt. Fitting into a bag, and carrying it are two different things.

It all fits into a small rucksack about the size the kids use to carry their books around in. Maybe 20 or 25 pounds.

I've got a bag of 6 of them..... no 5 of them (gave a coworker one the other day) in my car right now. 2 on my night stand(NIV and KJV), I'm looking at 3 of them in my living room right now, and all of those are just mine! My wife has quit a few around the house too!


My faith is a MAJOR part of my prepping and I am proud to say it.
