Feel your pain! They ate me up this weekend as well. I usually spray my boots and pants down with DEET but forgot. I use ChiggerX and it seems to get the itching under control.

Just don't scratch. Watch some Kung Fu episodes. Mind over pain.

yep, scratch it till it bleeds, scab forms and then heals. The minor pain from a tiny wound is nothing compared to 1-2 weeks of agonizing itching!!!

Aloe also helps the healing process.

It will last all day or until you shower. I realize that there will be skeptics, but just try it and you will be amazed at how well it works.
Did he tell you why it works? I have not heard of this and curious. Label says take 1 per day with a meal? Nothing happens if you take three?

Do not use bleach- it can cause chemical burns especially in open wounds.
I like to use Absorbine Linament; it is an antispetic plus the menthol cools the inflammation.
As bad as you've got them I would go to the doc ASAP and get a steriod shot; in the meantime, take plenty of benedryl.

B-1 is a water soluble vitamin, so it is very difficult to reach a toxic level. The excess is excreted through urine and your skin, which is why it works. It is one of the few vitamins (B7 also) that has a sulfur atom in it, so it likely gives off an odor that insects and arthropods don't like. Since my family and I started using it, we've gotten not a single chigger or tick. Our ranch is full of both, so I know for a fact that it works. The gnats were horrible last weekend, and they bothered me far less than my son, who refused to take the B-1. I haven't tried it on mosquitos, but it supposedly works to some extent on them too.

I suppose it can, but I have done this at least 10 times over the years and it worked like a charm for me. Very hot showers also provided relief. I never had any chemical burns but I did get immediate relief from the insane itching. I tried everything else before this to. No cream or anything worked like the bleach did. I know it sounds harsh, but I guess it depends on how bad you want relief.
