I was just watching a video on a thread here about the Newton school shooting. It was by a group called One4truth. It was claiming a cover up. THEN...it was gone. I cant find it again anywhere. Are we censored on controversial topics here? I wish I could remember who the author of the thread was. What the heck?
Anyone else see this thread or know where it went?

Depends on what it is and how the mods feel. As for the video they're all over YouTube so have at it

In general, I'm not a fan of "rant" type threads because they convey a negative tone, while my goal with the site has always been toward positive, encouraging contributions.

I understand the implications of some of these topics to maintaining our Second Amendment rights but, frankly many of these topics are simply rhetoric and add little value to our forum. Additionally, there's a LOT of redundency with the same "information" posted in multiple topics.

I'm requesting that our members help curb the number of these threads, along with rant threads in general, by properly disseminating what is pertinent information vs. what is politically motivated propoganda. I'm asking the moderators to assist by deleting topics that cross from informational to political, and to merge legitmate threads that are topic redundant.

Thanks for your assist and understanding!

Perfect, however, I thought this was sitting around the campfire and discussing whatever? So if someone doesn't like your topic even if it is relevant to todays world we just delete it or tell them to shut up instead of just moving to the next thread.
Who's campfire is this? The members of the forum?
I truly enjoy this place and group of hunters. Yes I'm a relative newcomer so I'm bitting my lip and trying to see this logic. It's not very clear yet.
            Moving on.

If I am sitting at a campfire enjoying an adult beverage and the same guy repeats the same thing over and over and over after discussing it ad nauseum, I'm gonna ask him if he's drunk, forgetful or just likes being annoying

Good point. Add to that the guy that constantly cusses or tells dirty jokes in front of the kids around a campfire and you should be able to understand how this "campfire" is not like one in the woods. That argument claiming anything goes because it is a campfire doesn't hold water.

Just to answer your question about who the campfire belongs to it belongs to the original poster. His rules. It is a delicate balance to please over 20k members and he does a Dang good job of taking care of the majority.

You're new okie but will get the feel for thread whacking after a while...I'm still a fan of closing the thread vs deleting with a one line explanation to hopefully help new members understand the boundaries.

We had a good thread last week, but someone had to slip in a little gig and insult...lost some good respectful posts and just took a turn.

ok back to gun control issues. Did you know that John Wilkes Booth bullet did not actually kill Lincoln, it was the botching of the surgeon who most likely killed Lincoln.

Also, I saw the Lincoln movie last night and looks like Lincoln as portrayed by Steven Speilberg was a lying, manipulating, conniving President and repeatedly used the Lords name in vain. Hmmm.... I dont remember half of what was portrayed in that movie. Sure had a major liberal slant to it. .....Sad.

Most of the time the decline is a gradual progression between multiple posters. Attempting to "explain" generally results in "we'll he started it" arguments that add to moderating difficulty. Additionally, a handful of other users take sides or offer input into how we suck at moderating. I've found that Deleting the thread is much more effective in having members help self-police those threads or future topics.
