I would’ve called you a liar if you would’ve told me 6-8 years ago that on opening day of bow season my arse would be hauling it to the marsh to shoot rice rockets instead of to the deer lease….

but here we are…..

2024 Teal season included 8 hunts

Two 5 man limits, Four 6 man limits, one 2 man limit and only 1 hunt where we finished short that was 14 birds between 4 of us.

very lucky and grateful to have another good season!

I have been swamped this season so far but finally was able to make it out into the marsh this weekend. Hunted Saturday morning and killed our 6 man by 7:10.

Had to run gator lines after that and ended up killing 6 gators.
Went back Sunday morning and killed our 5 man. Hunted the same hole, it was a bit slower, bigger groups of birds were spread shy, but I actually like the hunts where you can pick off 2's and 3's every 5-10 minutes.

My cousins ran the lines after Sundays hunt and we ended up with another 8 gators.

None of yall south zone guys went out for youth weekend?

Yall got any ducks with as warm as it has been?

I'm in the north zone and it looks pretty bleak right now. Suppose to get some rain this week and weekend. But dang it's been warm. I'm afraid the few ducks we have will get boogered up during youth weekend and the opener is going to be tough.

It really feels like it will be December before we get a good push of birds.
