If you've already got some cover next to the creek running through your land, I bet it wouldn't take a whole lot to get it ready. I say go for it. Getting in touch with your county forrestry department is a great idea. Good luck Sippy !!!!

2 words little brother ..... Sawtooth oaks

They grow much faster than other oaks and produce excellent mast for deer

What kind of trees are you thinking of? I planted a Live Oak sapling in my front yard in 1998 and now it's a pretty nice sized tree. So, depending on the kind of tree, you might have to wait at least 10 years to see it come to fruition. But the good thing is it will just get better and better. Good luck!

Sawtooth oaks grow 6 ft per year and produce high protein acorns in < 5 yrs

1 tree can produce up to 80 lbs of acorns per year

No brainer as they will attract deer , turkey and hogs

Start feeding your cows mesquite beans and you will have more trees than you want in about 6 years.
