My .240 Weatherby was stolen out of my truck in Espanola, NM on the way home from hunting near Tierra Amarillo on a snowy cold day back in 84 or 85.

It's one I would like to have back.
I gotta hear how that 6.5 creed is as flat shooting as a 240 and 257

Thanks for bumping this post new feller!

I have friends with loaders but I'd still have to pay for dies and supplies, I just don't want to put friends out to load something they don't normally do. I have bought reloads from Hendershots but he won't load brass I send him, even if it is new. Love his loads and have everything from 58 to 100 grain but $75 a box is a little steep.
You may try Dallas Reloads. There's a couple others in state that do custom reloads but I don't recall the names.

I'd suggest starting a new thread or searching for custom reloading threads to get more attention to your specific question.

The little 6's hammer above their fighting weight. I killed a deer and two hogs last year with a 6 Dasher running 105's at 2900.

I don’t own a .240wm anymore, but still have my reloading data on 100gr nosler partitions
@ 33-3400 FPS , I bet some barns ttsx or accubond would be hammers

I've always shot 100gr Partitions in mine, but I bought some 90gr AccuBonds recently. I need to get them loaded. Should be great pills for the .240.

I put in notification requests at Midway and other websites to notify me when various bullets, powder, primers, etc. come available. That's how I got the 95gr 6mm ABs. Gotta be quick.

I have a .240 Wtby that was my dads. He picked it up years ago and it was a custom job that some guy in Big Spring built. It’s in a nice thumbhole stock and Mauser 98 action. It’s pretty much a one holer in capable hands. I’m not nearly steady enough and can’t seed good enough anymore. Probably have a little better than 100rds of reloads and empty brass. Been kicking around the idea of selling out of the .240 wtby.

Buy the dies and supplies. First batch will be more expensive with that cost factored in, but when you get to the 2nd, 3rd, 4th reload on that brass you will be glad you invested in it.

I just loaded 100rds of 240wby with the 80gr Barnes TTSX over IMR7828 for my dad. Shoots sub MOA. Without the cost of dies, it was roughly $65 a box. Believe it ran about $75-$90 a box for factory stuff. Already saving a little there and next go round I will be using the brass again, so that cuts a huge chunk out(the brass was $$$$ and I bought it a few years ago). He wasn’t to thrilled with the TTSX performance, so once I’m back stateside I will go back to the drawing board if I can find some of the more “standard” projectiles I’m looking for(85gr SIERRA gameking HPBT, 85/95gr partitions..ballistic tips don’t gather his confidence).

In the end, you will be better off buying the dies, gathering the supplies and finding a load the rifle likes.

I’ve been waiting patiently for the partitions, Sierra 85gr gamekings and the speer 85gr soft points to come in. I’m on MANY notification lists. Sooner or later they will come back in stock.
