Remington 760 game master 30.06. Gun has a metal butt plate and I hope I never have to shoot it again.

I have a LC Smith double 12ga that with put a beating on you. It's a 23/4 gun also. I will let anyone shoot it anytime that ask. [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Sniper training shooting Barrett .50 caliber (12.7mmx99mm) was a jolt. Also shot a Russian 12.7mmx108mm but the WORST recoil ever was a anti-tank bolt action 14.4mmx114mm!

45-70 handi rifle off a bench. Shot it three times the morning after I bought it then went and traded it for a 44 mag handi rifle. That gun was brutal.

When I was 10yrs old I somehow squeezed off both barrels of an old man's side by side double 10ga. at the same time. You talking about a beat down.

A few years back I was at carters country up off of Treaschwig with my oldest boy helping him sight in his .270. A man showed up with what I thought was a beautiful rifle, then he fired off a round and oh my lord that thing was loud!
I got to talkin to him about it and he asked if I wanted to shoot it. I said Hellz yeah!!!
Loaded it up, sighted down range, pulled the trigger........ Set it down on the bench, walked away and never said a word., the gun owner was laughing.
It was a 500 nitro express
This is not the rifle, just a pic of one like it

458 Lott in a Ruger No. 1 before I added the Limbsaver and weight to the stock.

S&W 500 has incredible recoil but it is very manageable if you shoot it offhand. Off a bench rest my hands go numb after the second shot.

.460 Weatherby in a 8.5 lb set up. I have shot it exactly five times. Even with non-exportable elephant hunt prices going into the basement, I still won't shoot it again. Snappy and violent!

Mine was about 8 weeks ago. I had just had shoulder surgery the week before. I had a varmint in my front yard that needed shooting, so I pulled out the pellet gun. My arm was in a sling, so my son held the forearm while I aimed and pulled the trigger. That .177 caliber pellet gun brought tears to my eyes and my shoulder hurt for a day. I haven't shot it since.

for a hard snap back at you, it has to be my lightweight, synthetic .375 weatherby. That thing will get ya!

For more of a slow, heavy push, its a tie between .458 lott and 470 nitro express. Those guns are fine to shoot standing up when you can rock with the recoil, but shooting them from a bench is a whole different definition of painful.

I agree. My buddy has one he loaned me to hunt thick brush trails. Shot it twice off sand bags to check it and prayed a deer didn't come through afterwards. Insane how they kick with hornady leverrevolution ammo.

Remington lightweight synthetic in 7mm mag with 180gr Remington. Store bought rounds. I had to sell it. It kicked harder than any rifle or shotgun I've ever owned.
