    300 blackout load data

Anyone ever load up 300 BO with a 168 gr matchking or a 150 gr round nose 30-30 bullet? Is a 168 gr heavy enough for a sub-sonic round? I have plenty of each and a few pounds of H110.

I have a bolt gun so no worry about cycling...... What about 208 gr vs 220 gr for subs.

168 is heavy enough. I don't have any data to share though.

Are you planning to shoot critters with these? If so just know they will not expand at subsonic velocity.

I know for a fact that both 220 gr SMK will do a number on a hogs head at 100 yards. Puts a stop on him real quick.

I load 168gr SMK for super sonic rounds occasionally.
I use 14.0gr of H110 with very good results on paper...no animals yet.

            Probably a few pigs...

Thanks but I've read and read on that reloading section. Its just that most of the info is for AR and no one talks about the lighter subsonic rounds because they don't normally cycle in a AR

I was thinking of cooking some of these up for super sonic but really wanted some subsonics too.

I'm using 168SMK's to load subsonic 308 so I'm pretty sure there's a load out there for BO as well, I just haven't "tinkered" with it yet.

I have loaded 165 SGK supers with pretty good results out of my Rem 700. I use 14.6 gr of H110. Getting around 1,600 fps if I remember correctly. Have yet to shoot a pig with them though.

according to Silvers. youre going to want to keep the velocity below 1025fps to keep is subsonic. Since most loads for subs are 220gr SMK or 208gr AMAX, youre going to have to kind of tinker with powder charge.

My buddy has a 300 blackout AR and it cycles subsonic with a can. Only issue he has had is subsonic rounds opening on impact. He has been ordering from this site... http://www.lehighdefense.com/index.p...ng-ammo-detail . This round I linked you to opens every time but no pig testing yet, also they sell just the bullets. Good luck with your 300!

H110 isn't going to cut it for subsonic. Look at some accurate 1680. Personally, most subsonic rounds that I use are 220 grain SMK.

Does anyone have a source for a reasonable 220gr bullet?
