            For the overall length my lawyer said to use 18.5 plus barrel length.

              I filed all of mine at 26.5" total length.

              That covers me down to an 8" barrel length.

                  I was under the impression the OAL is the length of the lower and the upper you registered it with... So if it was being scrutinized you put the original upper on your registered lower and the math should all make sense...

                  If you have to be able to put the original upper on to match the form why wouldn't you also need to be able to put it back in the "original configuration" as written on your form to measure the OAL?

                    Barrel length and caliber is more critical than overall length. So many different stock configurations that could affect overall length.

                      That's for sure... My OAL length dropped 2" when I put the LWRC UCIW stock kit on
