    SBR help

I'm wanting to build a SBR, but don't know how to start. I have a trust set up, but don't know the procedure for getting a stamp. Do I have to go to a class 3 shop and have them set something up, or...? Thanks in advance !

If you want to register a lower you have already then get on atfonline.gov, eforms, and register. do a form 1 to register your lower you already have. make sure you pick a caliber, barrel length, and overall length. do not put multi under the caliber as they might not take it. follow the steps and then attach your trust when it asks for it (mine was in pdf format). you will then pay 200 for the stamp. The website is shut down 4 times a day for repair and you might get kicked off a few times while filling in your info. you should get a confirmation email showing the status in process. It's pretty easy but might take a few days to get on the site and finish filling out the form. make sure you save your progress often.

I know this is an old thread but am having questions on my sbr. I have my stripped lower and want to fill out my form 1. My understanding is that I need to know what length upper I will be running before sending filling out the form. Is that correct? And even though my lower is marked as multi I need to put .300 as the caliber on my form.

Yes you will need to fill in barrel length, caliber that your upper will be and overall length.

On the caliber it has a drop down menu to choose from.

I'm thinking it's 300 BLK on the form.. just be aware there's some stuff in that drop down menu that will still get you denied.. the menu is based upon common entries by applicants.. not what's acceptable. For example "multi" is an option in the drop down and it will get you denied.

Here's what I used to guide me: http://www.ar15.com/mobile/topic.html?b=6&f=17&t=415446

Mike I know your old. But that was from March of 2014.. pretty sure his tomorrow was "many moons ago" to put it in terms you'd understand.

                        SBR help

I actually meant to ask MarkV that question.

On the 3 F1s I have filled out multi has not been an option to choose.

Plus even if he put something that wasn't already listed it has to go through a review before they will send it to pending. That happened on my last one. The caliber I was building was not in the drop down so I had to put it in manually. It held my form for 2 days, then it went pending.

Ok, then choose N4 for the model (don't worry about Gen 1, Gen 2 , Gen 3) and then select 300 for the caliber.

There are other options available but are irrelevant.

FYI--from what I've gathered, you aren't held to the caliber you register. As long as you keep an upper in that caliber, you can have as many uppers as you want.

It's possible that you aren't held to that caliber/bbl length at all.

In any event there aren't that many choices. 10.5 vs 11.5 in 5.56 or 9" (AAC stock upper) vs...I can't remember what Noveske is in the 300blk...
