Working on my 300 RUM tonight. I was expecting to need to bed my 20 MOA rail so I mounted it with only the front screws tight and used a feeler gauge at the rear, .005" was a snug fit so I removed the front screws and put them in the rear tight and put the feelers to the front, .006" was biggest I could fit.

I expected more gap, do even need to bother with bedding?

My Seekins 20moa did not need bedding or lapping on my Sendero .300 ultra.

300 win on a model 700 action. Fairly loaded out. Still need a bolt knob. Aka black Betty!!
And a kimber 84m longmaster varmint. 22-250. Best factory trigger out there IMO!!
Have a couple others but these are my favorite!!

Load development is almost complete on the 300!!

81 grains? What powder? What projectile? I had a perfect load at 97.0 retumbo and 200 accubond but didnt like what it was doing to deer. Might try a different projectile.

Try berger bullets the vld is awesome I'm going to be shooting the hybrids I'm my 338lapua the 300gr hybrid looms like a torpido long and awesome bc the g1 is like

Berger was my next plan. Most deer I shoot with my RUM are around 400+ yards. I think I shot 4 or 5 with it this season. Anything under that I use one of my other calibers.
