2023 TPWD Public Drawn Hunts

Bannister and Moore Plantation are Forest Service land so they would still be accessible for hunting. Now they could stop being TPWD WMAs, but that would possibly mean less rules when hunting those properties. Generally WMAs are more restrictive than Forest Service land.

Everyone will have to just wait and see when the draw catalog comes out. That’s all I feel like sharing

Ive never drawn a hunt in Texas. Maybe this year

I’m going all in as usual, especially for my son. He drew 2x last year, one hunt ruined by neighbor landowner and he was sick for the other hunt. We drew the golden ticket for Matador, great hunt but no shot fired.
Sadly, I’m going to have to find a couple of others to put in with this year. My one buddy has flaked out on me and my dad and uncle can’t physically handle a lot of these hunts.

I only say that bc i am 40 and have about 10 PP in most categories and know alot of people with 15-20 PP and still don't draw. So realistically once I draw some of these hunts in another 5-10+ years, I will likely never draw again.

If you look at the average age of hunters, you would probably realize senior division odds wouldn't be any better. Go to any drawn hunt and you'll see a bunch of old men.
