We put in for everything except Alligator, Archery Alligator, Spring Turkey and Private Lands Either Sex. We put in for 2 locations in one category. Didn't get to put in for the youth hunts this time. Zach is 17 now. But he got to put in for the bighorn, oryx and gemsbok this year. I hope he draws the bighorn. That would be awesome. If he doesn't draw it, I hope I draw it.

I'm anxious to see the change in app numbers this year compared to the last. The convenience of online apps and the option to apply for multiple hunts in the same category is going to really decrease draw odds I feel like.

Got a question on this points system... I applied for hunts in 4 different categories, and it says I have 1 point for each category. So do you not get a point in that category for each hunt you apply for? For instance, I applied for (I think) 3 antlerless/spike hunts. Should I only have 1 point for that or 3? Trying to figure this out, and the site gave me the impression I should have 3 points.

You only get one point per year in each category you apply for, regardless of the number of hunts you apply for in that category.

Ok. Thanks. Now I have some admiration for bear polar bow.... 22 and 15 points, that's some dedication.

There's people who win the lottery and then there kid wins the lottery. Right?
There are also people who win the lottery twice in one lifetime!

Stop applying for the land hunts! It's a scam! They take your money and credit card information!!

Tee Hee!! The less people apply, the better my odds. Oh crap, can they read this?

Applied for 9 hunts with my Dad. Have 2 preference points. Hope we draw something, if not it'll have to be the day lease route again this year for a doe hunt.

Did they change the rules? in the past you were only allowed to apply for one hunt in each category or you would be disqualified right? this is my first year using the online application. have 3 points in about every category 2 in a few. been on one draw hunt 2 years ago with no success but its nice to see new land.

Boy I was nervous there for a second. Didn't see any rule book associated with it, and having never applied before I didn't know that used to be a rule.

Luckily, the main page for it says that now you can apply for multiple hunts in same category. Now I'm relieved to see I didn't completely waste my money applying.

Put in for 8 - 4 for myself, and 4 youth for my daughter. Total cost - $12 to apply. Nice.

Hope she gets drawn. If I do, that's just icing on the cake.

Yes; you can apply once at each area within a category.
For example, you can submit an application for “Gun Deer – Either Sex” at the Chaparral WMA and the James Daughtrey WMA. You can submit applications for “Gun Deer – Either Sex” and “Gun Deer – Management at the Chaparral WMA. You cannot submit two applications for “Gun Deer - Either Sex” at the Chaparral WMA

Above was Copy and pasted after a little search through the info...
i may be mistaken but pretty sure thats new.iI can now apply for a few more. ..thank you sir

Yes it is new for this year.
In the past you could only apply once per category, now it's once per area per category.
There was a huge thread discussing the upcoming changes a few months back.
                              I'm surprised you missed it.
