got a question for you More astute folks:
just heard "part" of the process on nesmx(?)
should the get KM the votes
they will then start on the rules votes.
It was said, the one member vacate rule would be used if a rule didn't get approved and then the search for another House Speaker would start over.
What if the first rule that got voted on was the 1 member vacate rule got vote in.
Could a member then get the Speaker vacated?

Speaker of the House

They would only be able to call for a vote of the full house and that would have to be a majority to kick the Speaker out.
I think.
You are right. And he won’t have the votes to get back in. Those that held out would not cast their vote for him again. And you should see the rules package. They are about to get real busy in the halls of Congress too. And that isn’t sarcasm.

Subsection (c) provides the list of bills referred to in subsection (b), which include:
• A bill to authorize the Secretary of Homeland Security to suspend the entry of aliens, and for other purposes.
• A bill to prohibit the Secretary of Energy from sending petroleum products from the Strategic Petroleum Reserve to China, and for other purposes.
• A bill to prohibit taxpayer funded abortions.
• A bill to amend title 18, United States Code, to prohibit a health care
practitioner from failing to exercise the proper degree of care in the case of a child who survives an abortion or attempted abortion.

Thank you for reading it and posting. This is a historic bill. And it’s all about the single motion to vacate. I don’t remember the date but it’s been a long time since that was a rule before being changed. Accountability is a beauty. These house republicans deserve a round of applause. And there were others in congress voting for KM that also played their parts, but these are the key players.
