Hell there are at least a dozen little casinos around Lake O the Pines. every few years the county shuts them all down but it does not take long for them to come back.
For the most part, I really don't care what other people do as long as it does not hurt me or mine but it kinda makes me sad to see these little places taking advantage of the poorest folks in the county

Local DA has his fingers in everyone of em in our area.
Unless he gets a chunk, goodluck!!
A guy I play poker with tried to open one, and they pretty much told him to pay up, or they would be taking him down.
Works just like the mafia in this neck of the woods.
Just a yr of so ago, didn't 2 guys get shot in one up on your side of the lake?
I know they robbed the one off 155 not too long ago.

Regardless, I believe it's the table games that require being on a reservation or being over the water. Slot machines are legal just about anywhere in LA with I assume some type of gaming license. You see slot machines at the race tracks and various road side casinos, etc.; which obviously aren't on reservations or over the water.
As for the OP's topic, I think it's a crock. The Alabama / Coushatta reservation should be able to profit from it. Actually, I believe they are, for lack of better words, a cousin tribe to the Coushatta reservation in Kinder, LA
Pre-Covid, Lake Charles casinos and Coushatta every weekend were full of TX folks. Heck, probably a majority of all the hotel rooms booked at the casinos and surrounding area. It sure would be nice to keep some of that money in State.

Poor guy couldn't keep any money in the bank.
