Is it true abbot is trying to shut down the casino in Livingston? It employs 700 ppl and generates a large economic benefit to the area.

Yes or at least there was. I don’t know about this latest Court fight.

It is/was on the Alabama / Coushatta Indian reservation and under (hopefully but that’s the fight) federal Native American reservation laws and not state laws. There has been an ongoing Court fight for years as to whether they have to comply with Texas state law or or as an independent nation under a federal treaty or statutory law.

My wife and I've been there on the way to our Sugar Creek deer lease near Colesneil. Why can't we let the Native Americans make some money? Geez.......

I just can’t understand why these hypocritical politicians can’t get behind casinos in Texas. People are going to do what they do regardless of what others think.

The Bible Belt prefers its members take their money to surrounding states to sin.

Hope not. Wife and I love that place. It's not a casino but bingo via slot machines.

We have won some $ there.

It's ridiculous. However, Texas will probably be the last state to stop trying to legislate morality.

While they're at it, let's make it legal to buy alcohol 24 hours a day, 7 days a week in every county and city.

Aren't all the casino's in LA and OK on Indian land as well?

Back in WI, the only casinos are on Indian land. But there is a lot of it, and the Indians do very well off of it.
