So many bad choices, where are the military men who want to lead... where are strong individuals... we get more and more dog and pony and less and less men (by men i mean strong ppl not necessarily the sex, there are women who qualify)

How do you galvanize the middle of america.... cause lord knows the libs have the coast on lockdown... but that is not the majority
It's not the majority, but it is a tough electoral map for the Republicans to overcome.

Best I can tell, Trump is an actor that's successfully playing to the crowd. I really don't think he believes a word that comes outs of is own mouth, but he knows that there is a segment of the population that will eat it up while others will laugh and enjoy the show. It's advertising and 'brand' recognition. Something akin to the Colbert Report.

Here's a good article that shows some of Trump's huge flip flops. If you've followed him for a while, you've seen these and more. He doesn't seem to have any real core values. He just kinda drifts with the wind, based on whatever he thinks might make him some money and/or get him some praise.

This immigration hardline stuff is a recent invention anyway. He condemned Romney in 2012 for being "mean to immigrants" and told Bill O'Reilly he was in favor of a path to citizenship for 30 million illegals. He also wrote in his own book that he was in favor of Canadian style socialized medicine. He praised Hillary's failed health care reform plan back in 2007. He has donated to all of her campaigns. He is the king of crony capitalists - he gives to whatever politician willing to do him favors to help his next business deal. Are you in favor of property rights? He has a track record of using the government as a hired thug to take other people's property. Ever since the SCOTUS Kelo decision - which expanded emminent domain to include taking property for private use Trump has taken full advantage numerous times - eg: forcing people out of their houses to expand a casino. He does not "tell it like it is" - he tells it the way you want to hear it. At some point he will say something that will expose him as a fraud - even his biggest fans will recognize it. I just hope it happens before he does too much damage to our chances in 2016

He doesn't really make anything happen though. He just says stuff that people want to hear...

Well he isnt in a position to make things happen yet. He would have to be elected to be in that position. I dont see him tucking his tail and bending over to be politically correct all the time. Thats what I like so far.

To answer the OP question, yes he is.....but he is bringing to the front in the media something's that need to be discussed and most "Conservative" candidates will not touch the topic with a 10' pole......

He is exactly what the party needs right now, at least he will talk about the PC issues the rest of the sheep will not. He is firing up the base, something that has not been done for almost a decade. Saying all that, he should not and more than likely will not last until the Spring....

At least Trump tells it like it is. Cruz and Walker need to do the same.
At least Trump speaks his mind! I hope Walker and Cruz will learn from him.
I have one one issue with Ted Cruz. It may be petty. When he had his filibuster over Obamacare he read the letter William Travis wrote from the Alamo. Well he read most of it! He changed one word. "I am besieged, by a thousand or more of the Mexicans under Santa Anna I have sustained a continual Bombardment ..."
Cruz changed the word Mexicans to enemy. Why? Was he doing the political correct thing? It bothered me and still does. Our border to this day is being besieged by thousands of Mexicans. I wish someone would stand up and do something about it without worrying if the illegals are going to be offended!

Billionaire real estate mogul Donald Trump’s Tuesday presidential announcement has sparked intrigue from many and ire from some groups like the Club for Growth, which immediately—and foolishly—called for Trump to be banned from the Republican presidential debates.

I guess it all depends on how much media/information you consume. I listen to lots of news radio and read lots--he has lots of solutions IMO that he's been very open about.

Are his tactics unusual, unpredictable and out of the norm? Sure. But what's so wrong with that? I do believe he is in it to better the country and I don't think he would go independent if it was to split the vote.

If anyone thinks a guy like Trump won't have solutions then they are sadly mistaken. You don't become CEOs/millionaires/billionaires without being an efficient problem solver.

I'll take a successful business man over a career politician any day of the week.

Time will tell--we've got a long time until elections and lots of players in the game. I just wish the media would focus on Obama's failures and Hillary's problems vs Trump...
That's kind of my point though. You don't hear much about his solutions because he provides the media with so many controversial, over the top comments that that's all you hear. It'd be nice if the media would cover his solutions, but they are going to air the controversial stuff because that drives ratings and makes them more money. So, by constantly making all these brash one-liners he's playing into the medias hand of covering controversy and diverting all the attention away from his solutions. Most voters don't have the time, or desire unfortunately, to read his books or read his speeches find out his plans and solutions so all they really know about his bid for president are his divisive comments.

I would hate to see Hilary elected, period. I would hate to see Trump elected. For all those who said Obummer lacked any experience to qualify as president, I would say Trump is even less qualified. What would Trump do with all of his businesses while president. Seems to me he has a bit too much on his plate to handle the role of running a country which faces many hurdles. The man has filed multiple bankrucies and made billions off of borrowed money.

I think he would have to divest his interest in all his businesses...if I remember correctly Cheney had to do that with Halliburton...

I'm just curious. Did you read the article I posted a link to about Trump? If so, are you confident that when Trump tells it like it is this time that he really means it and won't say the exact opposite again in the future? That's been his history (flip-flopping). Personally, as much as I agree with a lot of the things he's saying lately, I don't have any trust that he actually means anything that he says. He's the epitomy of a flip-flopping politician, even though he's never held any political office. To me, he comes across as a self-serving bandwagonner who is willing to say whatever he thinks will get him the most praise.

I can understand how lots of people are fired up to finally hear someone on the national stage saying things that they agree with. But I hesitate to put any faith and trust in the guy saying those things when he has a track record of flip-flopping back and forth on important issues over and over.

Both Walker and Cruz have been equally outspoken and fearless in the past. In my estimation, neither of them have anything to learn from Trump. They've been taking the fight to the liberals and RINOs all along, and they don't have the flip-flopping history that Trump has. They both have been able to be tough fighters while still remaining classy too (unlike Trump). I would love it if those two names emerge at the other end of the primary. I'd prefer to see Walker at the top of the ticket, but I'd be plenty happy with Cruz as well. Both of those guys have Trump's fearlessness, but they have consistent conservative records - something Trump lacks.
