Accept crime in your neighborhood or move? Despite the recommendations, those are not your only choices.
    Keep up the good fight.

I got way better response time when I called the Sherriff department about horses out on my county road. LOL

When seconds count, the police are only minutes away has turned into only hours away. Defund the police mentality, understaffed PDs, and more crime all has an effect on that I imagine. So glad I hate towns and don’t want to be around lots of people. If I hear shots it’s either my son next door or something I need to look into.

I keep hearing people say this is what happens when enough people vote a certain way. But time and time again, we are learning about massive voting fraud that allowed certain people to be elected, and certain people to not be elected which directly leads to instances like this not being looked into quick enough.

When I lived on the SE side of Ft. Worth, before moving to Burlytown, I'd hear gunfire almost every night during the warmer months. Sometimes it was full auto. Still goes on today. But the hood ain't at war like it was back then.

Now, in Burlytown, I only hear it during Memorial Day, July 4th, Labor Day, and New Years. Folks think firing a pistol in the air ain't noticeable. It is to experienced ears. Outside those dates, it's usually because somethings up.

Next time call the US Fish and Game and tell them someone is shooting at the bald eagles that nest there.

Hear shots all of the time in San Marcos. I live within a mile of the campus. I just assume it's drunk college kids showing off their new pistol.

I was wondering the same thing.

For those who ask if it was the "hood" (I don't think the OP ever answered, but White Rock Lake was certainly not the hood back when I lived in Dallas in the 70's and 80's. H. L. Hunt's Mt Vernon mansion overlooks the lake, and there are some other mansions around the lake. Nice neighborhoods, and I think including the spillway area, but things could have changed.

I live at the north end of the lake near the stables in WRV. We hear gunshots occassionally mostly after dark and on the main roads- NW Hwy and Walnut Hill/Skillman.
The police force is inadequate unless it is life or death. We do have an active presence in the neighborhood b/c of the big substation on one end and the city offices at the other- lots of police traffic back and forth.
I stay armed and alert and the neighborhood still feels safe, but I'm not walking White Rock trail or going down by the lake at night.

We had some kids driving around setting off fireworks, mortor shells I think they were calling them. One set off on our block set off my neighbors car alarm. Saginaw police officer was on scene in less than two minutes because he had heard it, not because he was called. Guess they are still idealists here. Or still care about stuff here.

😂😂😂 that would definitely get a response! They had Buckner shut down when that nest was there.

Get everyone in the neighborhood to call in— straight from the desk SGT; said the more calls the higher it goes in the queue.

Second lesson- if dispatch doesn’t take it serious then call the substation direct.

I get excited when I hear shots at night thinking someone just knocked another porker out for me
