Mine is handy because to physically check pics on it without cell service is a 1/4 mile jaunt over rough terrain and a creek every time. It is video capable but this model does not feed them, you have to go and physically download video. I do not use it to hunt by either, just curious to see what walks in front of it day to day.

I have seen people doing deer runs with drones. To me it takes away from the excitement of it. But it's already being done in some sort unfortunately.

Technology advancements will never end, Im just curious when we will finally say alright that’s too far. My eyes have opened big time since I had a kid, and I hope he will get to at least experience some hunting that we all got to experience when we were kids.

Can we shoot deer with a drone 500 miles away while laying in bed yet?

I experienced the downside of them this year personally. I have not seen anything going on at my feeders all season on my cams. So as effect, I have had no motivation to go hunting and actually only went 1 time this whole season. Where as in the past I would have gone every chance I got not knowing what was going on out there. Who knows maybe I would have shot a big buck that was lurking outside of my camera field of view if I had gone more. Its like now I need something on my cameras to get excited enough to go. Not really digging that.

This! I know several guys that won’t even go hunting till a big one shows up on camera while they check their phone everyday from the couch.

I like to pull cards, but have no real desire to get a picture on my phone every time a raccoon comes out and grabs a bite of corn at 2 AM. It always kinda feels like christmas with a handful of cards at the lease getting to see what came in during the week or two or three that we were gone. That said, a buddy bought me a cell cam as a gift, and i'll set it up on my corn behind my house. I'm mostly just watching those animals anyway, with the exception of pigs, so it'll let me know to take a peek outside.

I haven't watched the video you posted from a guy who built his brand on using them and being a social media fiend to try and build a career, but I love cell cameras

Our lease is 4 hours away, it gives us lots of info on whats going on and what deer are around. Still have some traditional cameras but I don't see any problem with them. I love being able to see a difference in what deer are coming to different parts of the property and trying to figure out why

Love my cell cams and don't see myself getting rid of them anytime soon. Really like them on our pig feeders and we put them on carcasses as well to shoot some coyotes. Nice to know they are there and be able to sneak up and pop a few.

I like having trail cam pics to help me with my hunting. I don't know anyone who uses 'live streaming' like the guy in the video describes.
I have never wanted to use cell cams because I don't want to know what is there while I am sitting at work! I like being able to pattern what/when is happening, but don't tempt me when I can't do anything about it. Pulling cards is fine for me.
As for helping me with my hunt: From late November, I had ZERO does coming to my setup (plenty of bucks, mostly not shooters). So, I knew I didn't need to waste time at my setup in January (doe only) and I went to other setups where doe were showing up.
(I have two doe in my freezer now).

I have had one or two cell cams in the past but got away from it. I like using my cameras with the cards. That will give you an idea what’s there.

Fair chase questions aside, depending on it is to be the determining factor of whether you hunt or not, is not smart hunting. (Cell cam or normal game cam.). Time in the stand/hunting is the best thing you can do to tip the odds in your favor. Of course it doesn’t always go for like this, but that big buck might only come in or step out once.

We have no cellular service so no need to buy or spend money on fancy electronics to get service

I view these devices as Deviant Behavior , deer voyeurism isn’t something that should be considered normal behavior from your home or office
I believe it’s just another form of computer/ internet addiction

Added note I follow the long distance hunter discussion on autopilot scopes that use a computer in the scope that determine range, wind , atmospheric conditions, altitude and the Hunter just carry’s the rifle till the target animal is found or shows up and sets up the rifle in a stable location

I will never use a cellular camera. But I do like the anticipation of going to the lease and pulling the cards and looking at the photos. Although I'm usually disappointed in what I see or don't see! And even more disappointed when I realize I forgot to switch the camera on or the darn thing isn't working properly.

This .... we enjoy going to the ranch and pulling cards and going through them - it not only helps us with management and aging it also gives us an excuse to be at the lease. Not a fan of the cell cameras

Cell cameras bring me tons of entertainment allowing me to be a deer voyeur as one has said lolol.

Tons of fun when I have pigs showing up and grab someone to run down with me to shoot some pigs. I like to keep guest opportunities high.
