Ok you got me. I do wish hunters would let deer get age but that's for the greater good of deer

I’m nine hours from lease. Can’t scout and have limited time in field. You could look at this argument from any side you want. Let’s ban all modern equipment, rifles, box blinds, optics, etc. Plus how does this affect anyone negatively?. Bottom line is man is at the top of the food chain.

To each their own but I have up to 25 running at any given time, we hunt multiple properties and I can keep tabs on what’s going on. Use them or don’t, I could care less but I use every tool available to me.

To me it’s kinda like bows- I don’t care if you shoot a compound- x-bow- or use a atlatl to kill a deer. When I bow hunt I shoot a stick. If a person enjoys it I’m all for it. I won’t buy any but some of the photos are kinda cool. I like to run one on a carcass or gut pile but haven’t done it in years. It’s all about entertainment whether it be hunting, checking cameras, or just spending time in camp

When you have to drive 400 miles to check cameras, it sure is nice to have cell cams. I don't use them to spot game then go hunt it. I use them so I don't have to make a 6 hour drive and then drive all over the lease to check cameras.

In my thought process cameras have help hunters from shooting smaller bucks because they help inventory not all but a large percentage of the bucks on a property. By this i mean when we see a good buck we have the patience to wait on him and not shoot a smaller buck. This is especially helpful with the younger generation, my son would shoot every 8-10 point he sees that would score 120-140 if we didn't have pictures of bucks that were bigger. To each his own but i'm a picture checker on my lease almost daily. Love seeing the different wildlife that show up at waterers and protein feeders.

Where as in the past I would have gone every chance I got not knowing what was going on out there. Who knows maybe I would have shot a big buck that was lurking outside of my camera field of view if I had gone more. Its like now I need something on my cameras to get excited enough to go. Not really digging that.
                    More like me.

I love looking at the game and wildlife photos, but hunting is not as much fun when you are fairly convinced there has not been a shooter on your own property all fall.
I Really don’t like them at the lease where I will be hunting every other weekend anyway and would like to hope there is a shooter out there somewhere. And with Cameras you can really lose the excitement of seeing a good buck for the first time.

The shorter one. After looking at it closer, Im guessing that is battery and camera?

The shorter one only has the top box and the booster antenna at the top on it now. The bottom box was the regular trail camers box I no longer use. At the time with 3G, I couldn’t run a cell pic more than 3-4 minutes per pic and felt like I was missing some good pics. During season I wanted more pics and better angles of deer, so I used to put out a browning to capture 1 pic every minute. Well the ir flashes would wash each other out and it wasnt the best. LTE came along and I pretty much just run the cell cam now .

There is a solar panel mounted on the top of the box and rechargeable AAs in the actual camera

Like several have said, I use for way more use than just the deer. Checking feeder status, looking how much rain or how drought conditions. as well as scouting, taking inventory of all deer on the property, including does. I'm currently running 6 cells cams, 7 Regular trail cameras. Get to hunt every single day. . .that's fun!

To each his own. They have their place. Carry on…..

I don't see any difference between the cameras and having a guide pic out a deer for you he has been raising for years. If you want to outlaw one you have to outlaw the other. The camera is just the poor man's guide.

LTE cameras came around and now I just have them on a standard 10' piece of conduit. Glad to be rid of that tall sucker.

I had to do the same at my place in Oklahoma with 3g cameras, but I have full service with 4g cameras in the same spots.
