Just be careful if you see a bunch of tents and a guy holding up a cell phone pointing at you, and sorry in advance but the H20 crew made me do it!!!

That makes me think of the Mayhem insurance commercial I saw last night, "What's your @, I'll tag you."

We fished up on the north part of trinity bay over by the spillway. Only caught one short red then headed back kinda early. It was a cold boat ride that morning.

Another day down… boy it was a grind fished hard all day ended up with a 20” trout and 2 reds between 22-23”.

Very few bites today. 1 more full day to go.

So the trout sizes and 5 fish limit will change back on Sept 1, correct?

No, it will be catch and release only with barbless hooks

I hate to think it’s eventually going to get to that.

Not because the fishery is in jeopardy, but because of the loud voices that think that’s the way it should be.

RTP. Don’t think it will go back. I think they will actually make it statewide next year. Hope I’m wrong

The sunset clause expires at the end of august.

If they want to change the bay limits state wide they have to go through the Texas legislature I believe.

saw a picture today of a floater all the way across braggs in matty. looked to be hung on a marker pole on one side and the bank on the other.

You haven't lived if you haven't stuck a boat or 6 and watched a beautiful sunrise from a few sandbars.

It was moved out of the way several days ago.

                                Possibly.

The emergency order is over the end of August. At that time it can revert back to the old limit. Or, they can put another emergency order in place which could continue or modify our current rules. Or, they can change the law to permenantly change the limits. It will all depend on what their surveys tell them about how the trout have recovered. Well, and public opinion on the subject as well.

I think we have a good chance of it going back to pre-freeze limits. If anything were to change I think it would be bag limit. The 15" minimum was ideal for the health of the fishery. This 17" minimum is not ideal for the long term management of the fishery. It was good to help with recovery but long term I think we will see a 15" min return.
