We took my friends old El Pescador & the wives out to the jetties Saturday for some line tugging Sheephead action, I hate cleaning those suckers but whatever makes them happy, we boxed 20 of them for some fish taco ingredients.
Even saw a couple airboats stuck this weekend.
One of them had 7 duck hunters on it stuck on that sandbar at the T from Mitchells Cut to Saluria Bayou. Not sure why he didn't have everyone get off of the boat so he could try & get it to break loose.

Put on a grind yesterday… we caught lots of 15” trout about 40-50 of them and managed to get a 19 and 22” as well. All trout were on soft plastic either on a drop off or scattered shell/grass.
We found some good reds at about 2pm shallow on mud bottom but only got 1 to eat.
Back at it again this morning.

I offered to tow them out but they had some strong backs and were able to push out.

I've snuck a couple of pictures after the fact over the years.

I had a little Alumacraft 1756 that identified as a Shallowsport. Let's just say I used to love to learn new waters by pushing the limits on that thing. The great thing about it though was I could just push it off by myself because it was so light, that thing was a great learning tool. I parked my old Boatright hard one night near Pass Cavallo, flounder gigging around 2am or so and decided I didn't wanna go around. I knew better but for some reason went for it anyway, jack plate quit on me about halfway up and we came to a solid stop. I hopped out to assess and realized it wouldn't have mattered anyway because the tops of my feet didn't even get wet for probably 50 yards. There was no budging this boat, wouldn't rock or move in any way bow or stern and we're on hard sand. I looked up the tide chart and saw it was still going out so there's no waiting for water, went ahead and called in the Sign N' Glide tow and kicked back and waited.
