This is how I feel too. He hunts Kansas every year and still shoots 125s. You would think he would get bored with those.

I don't see a reason not to personally. If you're not going to get credit for it why bother shooting a trophy? Just to say you did it? Does are made out of meat too. Might as well be shooting those if you're the only one that knows you shot it.

If I catch or shoot an animal that's lived long enough to be a record of any kind I'm going to respect that animal enough to give it, its due as well.

If you're putting forth the time, money and effort why not give yourself some credit as well? Not to gloat or rub it in other people's faces but to give yourself a pat on the back. I sure as hell ain't sitting in a tree after paying thousands of dollars and busting my butt filling feeders and everything that goes along with it just to kill a trophy to hang on the wall and nobody ever so much as hears about it. Someone mentioned a waste of time.....That's what that would be.

That's like paying $10,000 for a lease just because you like to watch the squirrels chase each other around. Go to the park and do that. It's a lot cheaper.

        Yes!
I enter everything in sci as the funds geaux to conservation projects. In addition, the data gathered is used to combat negative legislation and game laws from anti hunters or misinformed zealots. Also......Hopefully in year 2100 my great great great great great grandchildren can follow my adventures in the field.......Win/Win/Win!!![emoji6]

So in 2009 I was able to kill a LF buck that scored 201 Nontypical - he netted 198. I had him officially scored and he qualified for the all time record book.

I get that times have changed but to be truthful it was the highlight of my many years of hunting and I am proud if it.
