Common practice to produce the filler at one location and ship to another for further processing. I worked for pilgrims and we made the filler and shipped to customers that make the dogs.

I worked at Whitson Foods in Denton when I was in college. I have never eaten potted meat or vienna sausage since those days.

I toured the Sandersons Farms chicken processing plant over a decade ago as an educational understanding on industrial hygiene , it was then when I learned about mechanically separated meat processes.

Literally bones thrown in a mega centrifuge.

Meat puddy is the end result.

Needless to say, no-one was in the mood for fried chicken or hot dogs for lunch that day, or maybe ever again.[emoji23]

That’s what chili, mustard and onions are for.

Throw some fritos on top and you got a Frito pie dog. Did it last week and it changed (probably shortened) my life!
