You guys that call scam on everything make me laugh...hard. Normally if a link was asked to click on or info requested...Yeah.I'm with ya. But this was a message from the bank, saying. Log on to your acct and read your messages. I read that from my phone email. Went on my computer and logged on and checked my bank messages. Yup, a more in depth email detailing what took place with the data breach of T mobile customers in August 2021. I called my bank, Chase. They confirmed the email and messages.
Got a similar email from Discover. Called them and they confirmed the data breach from T mobile and the email and how to protect yourself.
So y'all that are saying scam...may not really know one when you see one.

Not to mention the OP is getting the message through his banks app, so if it's a scam the banks app was hacked..., banks app was hacked it would be on the news.
I'm gonna say it's 100% not a scam based off the info he gave us.

Need a browser like Tor or Riffle, and a URL.
Not much to it, but you have to know specifically where you're trying to go, you don't just type in words like you would on google.

Once again, it is not a scam email. No one is asking me for any information. I was just wondering what's the point of even notifying me if there is nothing I can do about it. I understand being notified if someone opens or attempts to open credit in my name. Anyways, y'all take care.
Again, what specifically did the alert say, and what did the credit card company tell you to do when you called them?

My mother worked at a convenient store in the early 1960s in Beaumont. There were blank checks on the counter. They were professionally printed checks however the bank name and account number were blank.

If you had a Texas driver’s license and lived in the area, you could hand write your bank name and your account number and the amount of the check to cover your purchase and it was accepted.

I'm leaning toward it not being a scam, but since the OP keeps avoiding basic questions that might shed more light on the subject...who knows.

I never understand why people start a thread asking for advice , providing only cursory details, then refuse to answer our questions for clarification, leaving us to guess at a solution. It's also rude to ask for advicep, then ignore our questions. I can't stand rudeness in a man!

I’ve been waiting for your questions to get answered as well. I’m in the “not a scam” camp right now, but we’ve been given limited info

Well fellas, I didn't think too much about this until today. I went into my account with one of the big 3 credit agencies and it showed an alert. Now this is on their website. It said that my personal info can be found on the "Dark Web". I don't have a clue where the dark web is.
It said for me to change my passwords and monitor all my accounts.
Mine is not a scam. No one sent me an email.

If you ever had a voice stream or t mobile account, their data got breached. Which is how my info got out there. T mobile confirmed the breech and the breech could be found if you google it. I put a credit watch on my social, which notifies all three credit reporting bureaus. Which means you have to be contacted before anything happens with anyone opening an account in your name. A credit freeze is also an option. But it needs to be unlocked before your social is accessed and a account opened in your name.
I opted for discovers identity theft protection. LifeLock is another option to keep watch.
                              Good luck.

Just have to wait and see what happens next.
